Hi everyone! How are you doing?

Here's my story: I got my Letter from the DMV this week saying for sure that my license is suspended for futher notice, if I try to drive I will be arrested and/or incarcerated (which would mean I would lose my professional license as well) so even though I wasn't thinking about it, I surely won't dare now!. I am so depressed I can hardly stand it. So my body is all tense and depressed and bam, I have an Electric myoclonic jerk just before falling asleep, something I haven't had since the medication kicked in. I called my doctor and am now up to 300 MG Lamictal. I hope it is enough. I am so stressed about having another seizure, and I feel if I get stressed it will increase the chances. This totally stinks being a victim of biology. I am trying to stay upbeat, and at least there is nothing terminal or painful going on, but I just feel so blue about it.
Anyway, I hope everyone feels better than I do today!

Yes, you have every right to feel frustrated and maybe even downright mad!  It isn't your fault.  The DMV has a bunch of protocols that they follow...I know what you mean...Sometimes when  I see a motorist that is driving that Shouldn't be driving (like a little old lady with bad eyes driving on the sidewalk), I wonder how that can be.   But then, I think, "At least I can sleep at night knowing I won't hurt anyone if I had a seizure while I was driving." 

At the risk of sounding too dramatic:

Whereever you are, ShakenMommy, I stand WITH YOU, because  I identify with you.  You Are Not Alone.    For us, seizures are a fact of life, but let's not make them our center stage! 

There will be better days.  Hang in there.  Do what you can to reduce the stress. Let us know how you're doing...     Glenda :-)

and (((((Glenda)))) hang in there ladies....it is difficult to keep tweaking meds and waiting to see what one will control and for how long....
