This may sound strange but maybe someone will have an answer anyway. In EEGs they use strobe lights to induce a seizure. Strobe lights seem so extreme and definite. But what about
other lights? I'm not phrasing this well. The flourescent lights in stores, the kind that flicker before going on, shadows and trees making patterns on the sidewalk, black and white patterns, etc.
Weird but sometimes I think the best way to test would be to hook someone up to an EEG and have them lay down while a technition/doctor shows different pictures. You know the old filmstrips (the round things where you pulled the film). Have someone hooked up to an EEG watching what could be different triggers.
Ok, it's weird. It's just that knowing if strobe lights cause a seizure doesn't seem to tell what milder flashing lights or patters do to the brain.
On to a more serious note-I seize during the entire time the strobe lights are on. Isn't that status? Is it any safer to be in status during an EEG than a regular seizure?
Ok, I'm scared this weird stuff above is just my way of dealing with fear of going into status while hooked up and ending up in a coma or worse from it. And I do wish there was a way of testing what my brain around everyday patterns.
