Hi Im kind of new!

Hello everyone :) im not exactly new, i've lurked for a few months, a friend of mine with an epileptic son sent this website to me. I think it's great   Just wanted to introduce myself before I posted to any threads. Im a 28 year old mother of 3, my youngest son, Brayden is 6 years old and was diagnosed with seizure disorder at 9months old! Since he has been diagnosed with : ADHD; Oppositional Behavior; Learning Disablities; and has tremors.For the last few months he's been on Trileptal and Topamax for the seizures, but still has atleast 1 per week, and Ritilan for his ADHD. We havent tried Lamatical yet but that is our next step. Its been a very ROUGH 5 years! It's a pleasure to meet all of you, and im looking forward to learning more about Epilepsy. 

Welcome to HW Braden'smom.  Topamax and Lamictal are both very effective meds with comparitively low and tolereable side effects.  Now, with that said, not all meds work the same for all people.  Quite a few people need a "cocktail" of different meds in order to control their seizures.  I personally take Topamax, Lamictal, and Klonopin and still don't have total seiaure control.  It's basically, trial and error until you find the right meds and med levels that work for your son.  I wish you luck and will be thinking of you.  Keep us posted.
