Since I had my EEG a month or so ago, my fingers and arms sometimes twitch. I think this is what they call "myoclonic jerks"? Anyway, I'm wanting to know if these go away with the right medication/dose or if I'm stuck with them. Anybody have experience with this?

Hi there Sugar,

Myoclonic Jerks can be controlled by meds in most people once they find the right drug & dosage. I get the occasional (maybe once a month) jerk on the meds I am on (Carbamazipine 800mg x2) but I put up with it because it completely controls my Grand-Mal seizures. A lot of it depends on how disabling you find them. Some people live with them because they are not much trouble.

I could put up with once a month - no problem. That's encouraging. Mine seem to be lessening in frequency and intensity as I go up on the Lamictal, so I am hopeful. Thanks. :-)

We had talked in another thread about this. I am so glad the Lamictal seems to be working for you.  If it's working this quickly for you, I think you are going to have great results.  Please keep us posted.
