Do you know how many days you are going in for? I did the four day one. I can tell you this, there is nothing painful about it. They will attach a lot more wires to your head than they do with the out-patient EEG's and they may put some on your chest or upper arms or your neck. I will say, in my opinion, this is the best test you can have done as far as epilepsy.
I don't know if you are male or female, but wear pj's that button up the front as you will not be able to pull anything over your head after they get you wired. They will video and monitor you 24-7, so you are on TV, you're a star! You will not be able to take a shower as long as you are wired. You will have to drag your wires into the bathroom with you, other than that, they can see everything you do. But, it is really worthwhile for you to have this test done. I highly recommend it.
I would takes some books or better yet a DVD player because it does get rather boring and this will be your worst hair day ever, much more glue than on the out-patient EEG's. I didn't want anyone to see me.
The only real problem I had was almost every time I got up out of bed, I pulled some of my wires loose, which made the little monitor go beep, beep, beep and the nurses would run in. For a southern lady, I do have a few bad words up my sleeve and they would just come rolling out. At first I would forget that they could see me and hear me and then I just didn't care.
Really, it's not bad at all. You're probably not a klutz like me and you trip over the wires. Keep us posted and welcome to HealingWell.
Take Care!
