i have been researching SNRI's because my doctor scripted cymbalta but my insurance will not cover it. i have 6 weeks worth of samples and then i have to switch to something else.

i found some info about milnacipran, but i want to know if any of you take it or have personal knowledge about it...

okay...after half an hour search, i found this....

How do you make the links clickable in the post? How expensive is Cymbalta without insurance coverage? I've been on free samples too and just assumed my insurance would cover.

i do not know how to make links clickable....i do know that if you highlight the link then right click on it and copy, then you can post it in your url....

canadian prices are cheaper for cymbalta, but here it is about $80 a month...

the milnacipran is way cheaper...about $44 a month.....

HHH- I have been on cymbalta for several years, and had to go off of it due to losing insurance for a couple of months earlier this year. With insurance, now I pay 30-ish per month for cymbalta. W/O insurance, the cymbalta was cost prohibitive at $125 month. Your insurance will most likely cover most of it, mine covers about 3/4 of the cost.

I'm pretty sure Milnacipran is not available in the US yet. They are still doing clinical studies. A friend of mine has been in the study for quite some time and LOVES it. He's been able to go back to work part time and feels like a person again. He's like a different person.

I was in a clinical study for it a few years ago. I definately was not in the placebo group. It helped me a lot with my energy levels and sleep, although I slept about 2 hours/night the first week or so. My pain levels were starting to drop even though I was more active. I did not notice any improvement in my brain fog.

Unfortunately, it increased my pulse rate and blood pressure too much. I did not want to start taking meds to counteract the side affects so I had to drop out. I know of a few others that dropped out for the same reason. In the real world, we could have just lowered my dosage but since it was a study, they couldn't.

When it is available, it will probably be expensive as most new meds are. I chose to be in the study because the drug has been used in Europe for many years so I wasn't too worried about unexpected side affects.
