There has not been a day that has gone by without thinking about you and your son. I am so happy to hear he is home and on the way to recovery. Please know we continue to be here for you!

Shannon and Diane, I have two sons and I can't imagine what this would be like to go through. I know you both have to be very strong ladies.

I'm glad you mentioned anger,because I am sensing it in him.  I knew he would be frustrated seeing as he has no memory of the day of the accident, but it's like there is a thunder cloud over his head, and he is not being very pleasant at all..  Luckily, 2 of his brothers will be up tomorrow night and spend some time with him.  I am going to phone the social worker who has been helping us, to see if there is something nearby and get him going to some kind of thereapy...I am so relieved you posted this.  Thank you soooo much.

I feel so badly for the person you know who's outcome wasnt so good as Michael.  Hopefully in a short time he will come to realize how lucky we all are that he is alive, that no one died or was injured along with himself, and none of his injuries are permanent...I hope he sees it soon.  If I could show you his car Alice, you would see for yourself that God has other plans for him...it is unbelievable when you see  it..then see Michael, alive, and someday soon, get on with his life.

Hi Diane, I am sooo glad your son is home. When he is able, please try to get him into a support group because people with head traumas go thru so much more than just healing from the "obvious' wounds. I had a horrible wreck in 1984 and to this day I still deal with issues associated with that head injury. I wish back then i could have found a support group to go to. You know, like it is with us here, he needs to be around people that will understand exactly what he has to go thru or has gone thru or is going thru. Just like these boards are our support groups. I have thought of y'all everyday and also sent my thoughts and prayers. All i can say is wow. So much to go thru for all of y'all. May god continue to keep all of you in his loving embrace and care.

I am  back now.  Michael is healing very well, I will know later today how the apptmt with orthopoedic (sp?) surgeon went.  All the clamps and stitches have been removed from his head and face, and special cream given to him to help lesson scarring.

Our family had another tragic loss and it's the reason I havent been around.  My nephew died last Friday from horrific burns in a fire.  They buried him yesterday.

I hope you are all feeling decent this morning, and cant thank you all who replied to Marlee's prayer request enough for all of your love and support.  It means the world to me.

Oh, Diane, I was so relieved to hear your good news about Michael. Then I was so sad to hear about your nephew, God rest his soul. Your poor family must be reeling w/ all this. You and your family will remain in my prayers.

Hopefully, you will get good news from Michael's dr. visit today. Take care of yourself, too. This has been a hard time for you, also. It will be good having you back, you have been missed.

It is unbelievable how much that has happened since the last week of August.  Michael's apptmt yesterday went well, they removed his cast, then the stitches, and fitted him with a boot cast (looks like knee hi ski boots lol)  He should be able to walk on it in 5-6 weeks.  His neuro apptmt is Monday, hopefully that will go well too.

I was so upset that I couldn't fly down to be with my sister for my nephew's funeral, but Michael cant be left alone yet, and hubby cant get anymore time off work. (because nephew is not considered immediate family), but have been able to talk with her alot on the phone...it's better than nothing.  It's only been a week tonite since he passed away, so I figure in about 2 weeks it will hit her and her hubby. She thinks she is ok...but I know from personal experience that she is in shock and will soon face the enormity of losing her child.

You are so terrific for the support and concern you have for myself, and my family. Thank you so much

Diane, I'm so glad things are going as well as is with you and Michael.  I'm so sorry about your nephew, but I'm sure your sister understood your circumstances. 

 

Maybe things will start getting better now.  I know God has given you the strength to get through the things you have faced.  That's what makes our faith a little stronger.
