Can Firbro symptoms start all at once? Many of you know my story.. My D is basically normal now so my shooting body/bone pains are not from low D.

I just woke up one day and it felt like my ankle was going to snap, next day it was fine. A day later my whole right foot felt like bones were being crushed, toes included 20 min later fine. I get shooting pains in my spine, lower back hurts too. My spine is now sensitive where my bra strap hits. My fingers get pulsating pains at times. Now muscles twitch all over my body. Also, my joints have been cracking like crazy since the onset of this.


Can fibro kick in all at once?

I have had blood work for everything and a bone scan...

I don't know that answer. I was officially dx. a few months ago and was told that I didn't seem to have "too much" pain. Everyone I have talked to IRL has told me the pain get's worse. So I'm trying to stay positive and not focusing on that if it is indeed true!

I took a blow to the back of my head, two days later my whole upper body on fire and musce spasm round the clock, tests showed nothing, however I had numbness in my arm for 6 weeks prior and jaw displacure.  I have read an injury to the head is quite a common thing to start it off and also that most people have had stress and anxiety probs.  Mine had started before in injury but that was what brought it on fully. Three years later and finally im getting the right treatment from the right people.  sue2z  :-) :-)

What I've heard about Fibromyalgia:
Starts in women who are high achievers.
Starts after a traumatic assault.
Starts from ..............hmmmm Depression
Starts from the positioning during a surgery
I personally think it gets worse when doctors say ... It's nothing. We don't trreat it.
One doctor told me: "You either have something wrong and need surgery or you
have Fibromyalgia. We don't treat Fibromyalgia.
It comes from the hurts of living and from people who have been hurtful.
I think of Violets that have been stomped on by heavy boots.

Hi Pamela

Research has shown that stress etc deplete the immune system. Recovery from an operation also places stress on the immune sustem. As and when you have a moment, it might be worth looking up the works of a Professor Garth Nicholson on the subject of fibromyalgia and cell wall deficient infections, such as mycoplasma. The quality of his research is far superior to much of what I have read and I can state myself, that his treatment protocol works. Further, the medication that he recommends are generic, ie cheap (patent expired) and he is not being paid any commission for the recommendation. In light of how many of my friends have developed fibromylgia over the last 5 years, i have had a chance to observe its spread and i am confident that this chap is right.

I feel mine started from a long period of being stressed to the max. It started with fatigue and then the pain slowly came til I finally had a full blown flare that got a dx quickly. My body no longer processes stress normally. I feel like I pretty much stay in the fight or flight mode.

 

We all seem to have different stories in how it started.

Mine started over night.
One morning i woke up feeling like a truck ran over me.
Severe muscle cramps and pain.
Then the sleep problems.
later a autoimmune disorder with neuropathy and sleep apnea was found that looks like it triggered the fibro.

Wow! I looked up several articles about mycoplasma infections and this one may be one of the keys to many of our problems. If it is the underlying causative agent for Chronic Fatigue, Fibro, Gulf War syndrome as well as possibly Lupus, slceroderma and other problems... Whewie! What a huge can of worms that might be caused by a family of very tiny microbes! I'm gonna start a new link about this.

Thanks guys. Today I woke up and can barely walk, feels like the bottom bones in my back are about to snap off. I dont get muscle pains, but pains that feel liek they are in my joints

Anyone else have the shooting pains that hit for a second as well? Anyone notice extreme joint cracking with the onset of symptoms?

I am also getting my parathyroid checked...

So what happened to the other 1233 Kings??? We have a snap, crackle, pop club for the sounds are joints make when we move them.

 

I did some yard work yesterday and the muscles in my whole back and even down into my arms were so tight last night it felt like I had a shirt on 10 sizes too small. My DH tried to massage my back, he really doesn't have a clue how to give a massage, and it did loosen some. It feels like the pain is in the joints but it is the muscles, tendons and ligaments. My shoulderblades often feel like they are being pulled apart in all directions.

 

I have the shooting pains in my head from a muscle in my neck.

 

Fibro can cause so many strange feelings. Just keep asking questions when you have something strange and see if anyone else feels the same thing. Most of the time they do. Reading and asking is the best way to learn.

So joint cracking could be a sign? Literally the extreme cracking onset with my pains...at night when I roll around all you hear are loud cracks. My muscles dont seem to hurt so much (though lower back has been tense) more my bones--deep in my bones. The thing is I have had a bone scan, been tested for leuk. So...I just dont know

Can the pain just hit one area for a second like a quick zap? I get those and other times (like today) its a long standing pain..for example today I could hardly walk it felt like my tail bone was popping out of the socket-also I feel like I ran into a brick wall

BTW I was just dx with basel cell skin cancer---hope THAT is not causing all of this though they say it does not met to other areas. Getting it dug out Tues- Wear your sunblock!

My first fibro symptoms manifested as severe pain in my knees and ankles. I tried to run across the street one day and fell down...
This came on after a really severe flu. I was down for a week and haven't felt right since. :(
I also get a lot of snap, crackles and pops, particularly in my lower back. It's embarrassing, because people can actually hear it and they always say "Ohhhhhh, Owwwwww..."

My issues came on after a bad cold. Did your joint cracking start when your pains did? Do u get shooting pains that feel like its in the bones?

Yes, the bone cracking came on at about the same time.
I don't get shooting pains, though. Usually my pain is either like over exerted muscles or the nasty sunburn sensation

Jeannie: Looks like you found out some interesting stuff. I believe the Gulf War
set people up for Fibromyalgia. Now the United States war medics need to find
the cure. I've read that they do work on pain problems. Don't know where I found
it.
Tory Boy: Garth Nichols sounds like he might know some stuff. I'll look him up.
Why oh why is the US so good at everything ... (but pain)

Hi king-

My symptoms came on in just weeks. Started with a migraine. Then with muscle twitching around my eyes and mouth and then throughout my "whole" body. The twitching lasted a couple months. It was SO annoying! I only get twitching once in awhile now. I had numbness and tingling in my face, tongue, and feet. Then came the pain!!!! I had just gotten over a bad flu bug but had been under alot of stress for months. Not sure what straw broke the camels back.

I also get the traveling pain. Each day is different, and like Marlee said this stuff has so many strange feelings! I was fortunate enough to get a quick diagnosis this last spring, after an MRI, and gallons of blood tests all came back normal. All the symptoms were there for fibro.

Thanks so much. Is it common to get a quick jolt of pain to a part of the body too? Also, my spine is SO tender where my bra strap hits. I feel like when my joints crack there is air or something in between...its so odd, every single joint is cracking non stop. When I roll over at night it sounds like a popcorn machine.

My symptoms started slowly over the course of about 5-7 years (after 7 surgeries for endometreosis), gradually getting worse to the point that I am now. I feel that this is as bad mine is going to get (not including the flares).
