I really hate it how I can't do normal activities without getting a flare up. Grocery shopping is really hard for me so I try not to do it alone. The last time I went shopping I didn't have any help and I really regretted it and was very sore for hours afterward.

When I went shopping today, I made one of my sisters come with me to help and I still ended up in a flare. I just feel so awful right now. I'm exhausted and dizzy and I hurt everywhere. I've also got a fever which is a bit higher than it usually gets in a flare. I didn't expect to get hit this hard when I had help, but I guess it happened because I wasn't feeling that well to begin with today and was feeling tired enough that I probably shouldn't have been driving.

Just feeling so upset right now and I feel like crying because I just want someone to take care of me but no one ever takes care of me when I'm sick.

I'm pretty functional but I still have a problem with the grocery store. The dairy and meat cases bother me the most. Just walking by them makes me feel irritable and spacy and sick. It's the lighting in these areas. I don't feel as bad when I wear my sunglasses.

The rest of the store overwhelms my brain -there is tooo much to look at. My brain overloads and it's hard to make decisions. Even if I remember the list, I'm lucky if I remember to use it. At one point, we were going to have to add on a room to hold all the toilet paper I kept buying. I'd just think of toilet paper and not that I had enough - so I'd buy more and more and more.

Don't get me started on coupons! I limit myself to 3 and usually find they are still in my hand when I get back out to the car, LOL. Just the thought of trying to clip, organize, shop, and use coupons makes me shake.

Don't be too hard on yourself. I function pretty well; I work and can do a lot of what I need to do and want to do but I still have problems. I can pack my weekend full of activities and feel "normal" on Monday. Another weekend, I fill the dishwasher and flare for days.

I wish I could help you, it's awful feeling sick and lonely on top of it.

I'm so sorry you don't feel well. The stores get to me too. All the walking and I'm not sure what else but it causes such  pain and exhustion is always too much. You're a wonderful person,I'm glad your sis went with you. Rest my dear sweet friend lie down where it's quite and rest. Do something nice for yourself  after a while, you deserve it.We care!

Thanks for the support guys. Hmm do something nice for myself, not sure what that would be. Can't really think of anything I'd want to do that doesn't cost any money. For these sorts of things a lot of people suggest long baths but there's no room in my tub to lie down. Another thing a lot of people say is giving yourself a make over or manicure, but those things wouldn't give me any enjoyment. *sighs* I really have no idea what I could do to pamper myself that I would enjoy. Now I just feel confused. LOL

Dont worry , you're not alone, everything causes slight flares, normal activities cause flares that last a few hours if I do to much the flare will last days.  I cant drive anymore as it sets off my shoulder joint area.  My husband does the shopping as just lifting the bags do me in.  Im so uselesss.  I can sweep and dust so the house is clean but my beloved gardens gone to pack.  I feel afraid all the time of the pain.  Ive cried so much in the past I cant anymore.  Hope you feel better soon.   sue2z :-) :-) :-)

Wow can I relate to what you gals are saying. Some days I cry so hard I swear there's no more but there always is. I keep pushing myself and the pain is always bad but I either refuse to stop over doing or I'm just to stupid to regulate myself...lol Whatever it is it does get you down at times.

One thing you might try to do for just 'YOU'... I love the library and it's free...if you can get there. Any and every book and video and music cd is yours for the taking. Sure, you have to bring them back but then you get more! I bury myself in books when I can. It helps me concentrate on things I love and not on the pain. So polish up your library card or go get one and enjoy!

Well I do have a lot of books at home both ebooks and physical books, and many of which I haven't even read yet. I do read when I feel that I can concentrate on it. I used to be such a book worm when I was younger, these days I find that either my mind wanders too much when I read or that I start to fall asleep and this happens even when I really like what I'm reading.

Right now I'm in the middle of a series and the book I'm currently on, I've got one chapter left on it. I've been stuck there for the longest time just because I can't find the book that comes after it. I know I own it but it's no where to be found, and none of the libraries in the county have that book. So frustrating. I know I should just move on and pick another book to read but it's hard when I'm feeling obsessed with the series I'm currently involved with.

I can relate to the grocery store stories. The different smells coming from the deli set me off, too. I get confused and then can't ever remember where I parked when it's time to go. And I speed through the store just to hurry and get out of there. And I always forget what I really need. It is truly exhausting. I can hear the bright lights humming and it drives me crazy. I wish I had a personal shopper. But I don't. :(((( So I force myself to go and I seem to get it done. But I pay later for it.
And I admire those who can still read. My mind drifts and I lose my place and I used to love to read. I think my fibro has made me impatient and I am always in a huge rush and anyone who knows me wouldn't believe I have it as bad as I do because I am constantly on the go and cleaning and doing stuff----but what they don't know is how I pay for pushing myself. I wish I could turn back time and not have do deal with this as I'll bet we all do. I do reward myself often. Every single time I do a have-to-do chore I reward myself with clothes or makeup or something fun. I think it still makes me feel normal. Hugs to all!!!

I've just been dealing with the dreaded flu for the last 4 days. Omg if it isnt coming out one end it's the other and the vertigo and nausea have been terrible. I was awake all night last night and was so exhausted from being so sick all day and then at around 6 am I realize I havent even been able to take my lyrica for over 3 days and thats why so much pain and a feeling of uneasiness. I dont mind shopping though,in fact I love it,go figure? I dont like hauling all the stuff though as I dont have a car nor do I drive so I have to haul all my groceries in a lil old lady cart and have a tendency to fill that to overflowing so much so that I have to put a huge clear trash bag in the cart so I can tie it off over all my bags so nothing falls out. And I dont suppose hauling about 100 pounds of groceries does me much good either. I am just hoping tomorrow to wake up somewhat normal. It has been so hard to keep my pain meds down let alone all the other things I have missed taking these last few days. But hey I did lose 10 pounds and my blouses fit again lol what a way to diet ugh. Hope everyone feels better soon.
