Hello Everyone....Just hatched here and I don't know if there is a place for me to introduce myself or if I just jump right in??!! wink    ..and..is there a chat room?  Looking forward to getting to know others with FMS, commiserate, laugh, get info, and add a bit myself!  Take good care~~Chicky

Hi Chicky and welcome. And yes, you can jump right in if it doesn't cause you too much pain. :D

There is a thread somewhere around here, if one of us can remember where it was laid, that people have used to introduce themselves. They also have started their own threads to make their introductions. There's a ton of information here namely in the second listing called Fibro 101. If you haven't already perused the information there you might want to. It contains suggestions on all different kinds of things from nutrition, gentle stretching, and just simply all around useful stuff.

I'm sure that one of our official welcome wangon-ers will be along shortly and say their hellos - along with the others - as well. I'm still pretty new here but have found a great group of people that have been a huge help to me already. I hope you are able to find what you're looking for here.

tongue  Piercings and Chuzzle, It's very nice to be welcomed so quickly! Thank you!  I have had Fibromyalgia for...well, who knows how long!!  Of course the diagnosis actually came when the Doctors got sick and tired of me telling them that contrary to their opinions I was in fact not in need of a Phycologist.

    

     I now for the most part, have a good group of Doctors other than my primary will changed shortly. The fill in Doc is trying to go back into the dark ages and is suggesting I see a Phycologist!  My blood pressure took a jump for sure.  I won't go into a long story except to say when I do get a replacement I will have to undo damage he has caused by putting his silly opinions on my record.

 

     I am a 52 year young woman, I look great, feel rotten! You know how that goes.I have FMS, probable Sjogrens, spondylosis in my neck(causing my spinal cord to be flattened a bit...ouchy and scary), Interstitial Cystitis,seizures, and Osteoporosis which I receive injections for. Is that it?  Think so!  Oh..the internist says I probably have another yet to be determined connective tissue disorder.

 

     I am on dissability and keep myself busy with sewing.  I make very unusual bed covers and wall hangings and love it.  I am a firm beleiver in pampering yourself, and others.

I too am a 52 year young woman and look great and body feels rotten- You've got plenty going on but sounds like you have a very positive attitude!

You've come to the right place for support- they are the "best" here.

Your bed covers and wall hangings sound so interesting, how did you get started?

Hi Chicky and welcome to our family. You have already been given a lot of info about our forum. This is the best group of people here.

 

I'm 58 and look 68. smhair But the pain has been kind to me lately.

 

I'm glad you have something you enjoy doing. I've been trying to get inspired about doing something, feel like I'm in limbo right now.

 

Ask questions, tell us what works for you and vent when you need to we will be here for you.

Hi, Chicky, and welcome to the fibromyalgia forum!  Just want to warn  you...we do chicken jokes around here!  smhair    Chutz, another of our mods, raises chickens for their eggs and we are all trying to raid the coop for our fried chicken dinners.  tongue

 

I'm glad you joined us and I hope you have had the chance to read the Fibro 101 thread.  Lots of good stuff on there!  Also, the back posts have a world of information.  You have come to a great place with good people that have some wonderful ideas that will help you live a full and enjoyable life with fibro.  We really do care about each other.  Just ask questions and we are here to help.

Welcome to the fibromyalgia forum. You sound like a very out going person, so I think that you will really like it here. And as Sherrine said, duck when the chicken jokes come your way. We try to laugh a lot. It is good for the soul and everything else.

Yes, we have chat rooms. You will notice at the top of the page in the second blue strip it will say chat. All you do is click on ther and it will take you there. You can pick any room actually. Often people chat in what ever is available. But there is a fibromyalgia chat room for those who want to use it. There is not any set time, use it whenever you want.

I hope to hear more from you. As was said, there is an itroduction thread called 'who's who in the land of fibrofog'. You can post on there if you want or start a thread of your own like you have just done.

I wish for you the most wonderful day. And again 'welcome'.

Hello everyone!

 

     I have been at my daughters house for a few days.  I usually go there each week to help her out.  It tires me and I am sometimes sick for a couple of days..flare days..then I get up and get going again!

 

     GamJill...I actually started sewing in 5th grade. Now the ideas just keep popping into my head...can't keep up! 

 

     Beleive it or not I suffer with anxiety and depression also..there is hardley one person in my family that does not suffer with it.  My daughter has panic attachs.  I wish I could take it away for her......thaks for the welcome!!

 

EVERYONE....Thanks all for the welcome and imfomation about this site!  Chicken jokes??  What!!!!!!  I am but a baby chicken tho??  Have you no mercy??lol I can take it!!

 

I am curious about your autoimmune inner ear disease Sherrise as i have ear issues..tell me a bit if you can or point me in the right direction on this site..thank you..

 

as i look at the lists of things that each of you have my list got bigger...yikes.....TMJ,IBS, GERD.....chronic fatigue....no wonder I'm sick of this!!!
