Hi,
I've been taking it since Feb. My Rheum first gave it to me, but I think he thinks my pain is Fibro related. I don't know if it really is, though. It did not help any pain in joint areas, however, it did start helping some of my nerve pains. Since May, though, I've been seeing pain management, so they took over the Lyrica. Since my pain is very aggravated by sitting and standing, they upped my daily dose (plus gave me some other meds). It's helping me more and the only side effect I notice is water bloat and a brain fog, though over time, the fog isn't so noticeable anymore. The best thing I realized with Lyrica, is that it actually HELPS my dry mouth! It's strange, b/c dry mouth is a common side effect, but it actually helps mine. If i take Lyrica first in the morning, I do not get dryer mouth from my pain med nor my muscle relaxer.
Again, I have to stress that Lyrica does not help any of my deep achiness that I feel around many joints (lower spine, sacroiliac, hip/pelvic areas, neck, ankle, and hands). I still get some nerve pain & paresthesias (and recently had a severe pain flare), but it does keep alot of it under control.
