I do have fibro,and take the nasy drug called methadone. I wish Lyrica was around before I met methadone,I feel trappd now

Welcome Lisa,

Methadone probably works better than Lyrica. So you may not be missing much.

The thing that I learned about methadone AFTER stopping the med was that it made me dopey! I didn't realize how much I slept and talked slow until I stopped taking it. It WAS a good pain reliever though. If you really want to get off of it, you CAN do it. It isn't easy, although I stopped taking it cold turkey. It has a long lasting effect after stopping it. It takes a while to clear your system.

Hi Lisa and welcome. I have not had any experience with methadone or lyrica. We have a great group of people here that are always willing to help. Read the fibro 101 thread, second on first page, it contains lots of info. Read as much as you can on the threads and ask questions and you will learn what works and doesn't work for you. With fibro it's all trial and error to find what gives relief.
