t.v. commerials about prescription drugs ...is it just me?

Yes Cathy, that is a fine idea, however it would not have the same magical powers as the Bag and Solution 'as seen on t.v.'  A Fleet, I'm afraid would not be able to penetrate the crevices of the colon that contain all those pounds of toxic waste.  I guess it's the thought that counts, however, and I will take your suggestion, ponder it, and decide if that's the way to go.   Maybe, as I drift off to sleep, I will become enlightened.

Oh Jeez...Had a phone call from a friend last night whose 4 year old grandson has apparantly become so inamored with the Viagara commerical that he went to day care and spent a good portion of the morning dancing around, singing 'Viva Viagra.'  The daycare provider had the good sense to not address this with the child, but did call his parents.  It reminds me of when I was a teen ager and my younger brother had a science project...used my tampons as the bumpers on the boat he built.  My mother DID get a phone call.

Oh Elvis, are you turning over in your grave as you listen to what they have done with your song??

So, I just got done posting on the Saturday check in and was near tears and in one of my crying moods and was so happy to see this thread at the top again! Just what I needed. I read all 3 pages again and am now laughing my butt off!

Thanks again for the laughs. We need to keep this one at the top so on bad days we have something to laugh about!

That is so funny Donna, about your friends' grandson.
When my boy was in preschool, his teacher did a really neat thing. She took each child aside and asked them about their lives and families, and would write it all down, and then make a little booklet for the child to give the parents. That was a really cool idea.
Anyhow......part of my son's ramblings were about how I would put ice cubes on my feet (I was having foot problems at the time). I told the teacher how funny that was, and she said she had to edit some of the stuff from the other kids. One kid started going on about his dad running through the house with a bow and arrow, naked. hahahahaha Needless to say, she didn't print that.

Unnecessary fibro pain?  I had recorded a movie some time ago and just watched it the other night so this commercial may be old and pulled because of the message it sent.  They show a little boy in an all white living room jumping on a can of chocolate syrup, spraying brown goo all over everything.  June Cleaver walks in the room and smiles.  "Boys will be boys!  thank Goodness for Resolve!"  The Hell, you say...are you kidding me?  What..a ten minute 'time out' or a crack over the head with a soup ladle.

Then there's the one where a woman is leaning against the kitchen counter after just mopping the floor.  In slides her little gift from heaven on the soles of his black shoes leaving skid marks across the entire length of the room.  She smiles, then begins to re-mop with her Swiffer Wet Jet.

Obviously, none of these women have fibro because if they did, their little darlings would be in Kiddie Boot Camp, whacking up rocks with a hammer.

No wonder you have five year olds spraying the sides of cars with Daddy's Rustoleum.  Look at the message they get!

I actually fell for the magnet one - I wore a magnet in my bra for months thinking it was protecting me from electromagnetic fields. Actually . . . I lost it one day and bought a new one!!!!! Sheesh! (um, I don't wear it anymore).

Btw: a friend says, "if erection lasts more than 4 hours, find more women!" ha ha Although maybe the problem is that the guy is sitting in a bathtub doing vicarious sex. ha ha!

I love the baby stockbroker commercials and the ocean spray guys.

Hey Sue...don't feel bad.  I have a friend that put those magnets in her mattres and in the inside of her shoes.  All it did was was attrack coke can tabs, thumb tacks and loose change.

Have you seen the commercial for some cold sore medication...the camera zooms in to this woman's face and she is cupping her hand over her mouth?  Commentator says "There's nothing worse than a cold sore."  Really??  I can think of about 2,908,114 things right off the top of my head that are worse than a cold sore.  Oh...2,908,115.  I forgot leprosy.

Jeez, I wish this fibro flare would cut me a break.  I'm watching WAY too mcuh t.v.

I just have to say that when i read the side effects it is a joke. I already have all the side effects. Then it says if you experience these side effects go to er. before i take the med i have all the side effects. there is no way to tell if it is making things worse. also if its an antidepressant it can cause suicide. if it is anti nausea it can cause nausea. What a pattern. I hate taking drugs. I was going to quit and go all natural and then the sickness came.
The reason there are so many law suits is because they study these drugs for maybe three months and then use them on people like we are guinea pigs. the people who take them to feel better sufer the consequences of the unstudied long term effects.

Anyone heard of Kevin Tredeau (spelling?). He wrote an interesting book based mostly on assumption and heresay. He says there is a person or organization somewhere far away and if you send them your picture, they will put it under some power source and then you will feel better. Ok, I don't have it exactly right, but somehow, someway, this company is supposed to do voo doo on your picture that will reach across the miles to you personally. Do you want their number? We can do the enemas and voo doo as a super holistic health combo!

I'm sorry to give you the sad news, Sue, but Kevin Trudeau has just been charged with fraud and deception and has had to pay a 1.1million dollars in a class action lawsuit for advertising products that he basically 'brewed up in his garage.'  This is Kevin Trudeau the snake oil man, not Kevin Trudeau the financial adviser.  Google it...Your heart will be broken.  Sending him a picture would end up in the dead letter pile!

ive seen and read part of kevin trudeaus books. I went to a mind body spirit fair. I heard this group of woman talking about how his book is a lead to get you to pay for access to his site for all these cures. And then you pay for the site and still don't get anything. I think some of his idea are good. I think there is truth in some of the things he says. Yet he is after money. my dad tried his acid reflux cure i believe and he said it made everything worse.
I agree that organic is better as far as food and the supersize me documentary shows how bad fast food is. I also believe the pharmaceutical conspiracy theory. I wonder what the thing is you are talking about. I started looking into every way i could to relax myself and feel healthier. I dont know that there is much. theres massage therapists, chiropractor, and such. There are those rocks that are suppose to clean the air, and a lot of supplements. I am thinking it sounds like he wants you to pay for a prayer circle to pray for you. I dont remember much in his book. i would have to read it again. His second one has some websites in the back. I heard his firt didnt even have that. I checked it out from the library, because of the bad reviews i didnt want to spend my money and be dissapointed.

Oh no! First the enemas and now the Trudeau energy thingies. What next? Maybe someone knows what they are - I think I remember pictures with interesting geometric shapes that somehow help your energy or your aura if someone has a picture of you under the lamp or machine or something. Oh well. I tend to be skeptical.

I saw a comic on TV the other night who said he and his wife were much happier after he has been taking an "ED" pill. He said it has made them closer, they have turned into "Talking after sex Barbie and Ken". Sometimes the pill makes him so happy he becomes "Laying in the wet spot Ken".
