SPOONS!!

SO first of all... thank you thank you thank you for that AMAZING post!
I just loved that story!

Anyways I have a funny story! My best friend is one of the most understanding and easy people to talk to ever... when I told her about my Fibro she instantly went online and learned everything she could and said YES that's you! It's amazing because we all talk on here about all the people who DON'T understand... it's nice to have someone who really tries! After I read the post about the spoons I instantly sent it to her, she said well that was the longest but BEST description of what's going on with you. We didn't really talk about it after that.

So the other night I decide to do dinner and a movie with some friends... I decided to meet my bestest at Target and as I was walking around I just started hurting really bad, I could feel my energy being drained and my mood drops along with it. So I leave and go to my car and just sit there.... I called her to tell her I was just sitting in my car so that I could maybe get up some energy because I had been in a flare that week and it was the first night to really get out. I told her that maybe if I sat in my warm car and relaxed it might make me feel better.
She gets there a few minutes later, and I am feeling much better (it's nice now that I've become more aware of what I can and can't do, before I wouldn't have known to just stop and go to my car). We go to dinner with friends and I don't even think about it anymore. I am with great people laughing and eating yummy japanese food! We are being silly and my stress and pain seems to flee! It's amazing what laughter and good friends can do!

One of our friends has to run home after we eat before the movie so my bestest and I go to Target (we love that place!) to walk around until he's done and there is this REALLY close parking spot but it has a buggy blocking it! So I said- OH I'll go move it! And she says- NO! don't waste a spoon!!!!
I just look at her funny? Not even remembering why she said that. She said- you said you were hurting earlier and you've been in a flare... we have a big night, we'll be out late! DON'T WASTE A SPOON ON THAT!
I burst out hysterically laughing!! I couldn't stop for a full minute and looked at her and said see THAT is why you are my bff!

that is such a great story! you are very lucky to have such an understanding friend in your life:)

You are so luck to have a friend like that and it sounds like you had a great time.   I wish there were more people like your friend in the world!!!

You're lucky to have such a dear friend littlemisssunshine. I don't even talk about my fibro to anyone. I once mentioned it to my sister and niece. My niece's comment was "doctors tell people they have fibromyalgia when they don't know what it really wrong". For several years now, I don't mention my health concerns to my family at all. My sister gets angry at me that I'm so silent about everything, but with responses like this, I've learned to keep quiet.

The Spoon story is awesome. Great that you have a good buddy to share your life and times with.
I'm a little like Cat Cat. I try not to talk about it... most people don't get it. Fortunately my sister seems to understand.
