A brief update for you all. When you call unemployment now there is a long message as usual saying lots of people are trying to contact them now and then "goodby!" and the line goes dead.
I ended up going into the unemployment office here to try and find someone to actually talk to and find out why I was denied the extension. I brought two sudoku puzzles, a bottle of water and extra pain pills. I was going in for the long haul if I had to
.Well there's a whole bunch of people still working there but apparently they don't talk to anybody!
. I was told to call instead ( uh yeah...) when I explained that I already knew that they hang up she mentioned that I could use their phone system which is supposed to be easier to get through. She said it'd probably take about
1 1/2 hours as you have to keep hanging up and re-dialing to get through. After memorizing the sequence to bypass the bazillion messages "press 1 if you blah blah blah", I was able to wittle it down to 20 minutes where I was greeted by a surly woman who sneeringly told me that I hadn't worked long enough to get anymore. Huh? I asked what date they had and they were off by a freakin' year!
.She then sneerinly said that I'd have to appeal to get it changed there was nothing she could do. I really wanted magic hands that could go through the phone lines and throttle her at that point. Instead I said thank you and hung up. So yeah I'm now appealing. On a side note I wrote about
my latest doc appt. with my cardiologist. He's putting me on a cardionet monitor. Anyone use one here?
love and light,
Cynthia
