Chest and Rib Pain Question

I was wondering if anyone that suffers chest and rib pain has had any luck on it feeling better with building up Malic Acid, Neurontin, Lyrica or anything else I am not thinking of?

This seems like muscle pain, not nerve or cartilage. Chest was hurting bad this morning between the ribs, so I stretched the muscles between the ribs and the back muscles, so of course now the chest is still hurting and so are the ribs and back now, LOL. Can't win. So since its muscle pain from just light stretching and doesn't seem to be nerve pain, I was going to try building up the Malic Acid.

I have costo but was checked out first.  I didn't just assume I had costo.  But, once my doctor knew that it wasn't my heart, he has me taking ibuprofen (with food) to help with the discomfort.

I had my heart checked, ultrasound and stress test and a couple of ECG's.

Its Costo. One rib slips badly. It goes anywhere from nothing, to dull, to acheing and then when that one rib is bad its stabbing. The thing is that my massage therapist that does inter rib massage says those intercostal muscles between the ribs are always anywhere from tight to really tight, which leads me to believe the tight muscles between the ribs caused the costo.

Which is kinda why it goes back and forth. If I stretch the muscles between the ribs allot, everyday, then I have very sore ribs and little chest pain. If I don't stretch the rib muscles, then I end up with little rib pain and lots of chest pain.

Basicaly I am trying to figure out a way to get more stretching in on the muscles between the ribs, and faster recovery on the stretching pain. I was wondering if anything like Malic Acid would help with that. I know it gives you more muscle energy and faster muscle energy recovery, but I don't have any idea how that would help with stretching pain you can't get ahead of.

I ended up in ER with bad chest pains, turned out to be costo and anxiety. It was the worst pain I ever had in my chest.  Felt like my ribs were caving in and it even went into my back and shoulders.  They ruled out heart problems.  With the cold weather here (-4) I am having a huge flare with costo.  I wont even go out in this weather. Its going to be a long winter.

I use moist heat, take motrin, and use Vicks, as that relaxes the muscles some how.

Moist heat definitly helps. I have used the steam sauna a few times at the Gym. No rib or chest pain or any other pain for a few hours. Unfortunately, since I am totaly heat intolerant I walk out of the Sauna staggering with total brain fog after just 5 minutes and have to jump into the pool to bring my core temperature down fast. Then I sit there like a big lump all day with all the energy sucked out of me.

Yet another symptom pointing at Hypothalmic disregulation.

I actualy think it would be good to stretch the rib muscles, but its really easy to overstretch. It helps on me, until I do to much of it. And then even each time I have done to much of it, like twice a day for a week until finaly I am feeling like I am laying on boils whichever side I lay on, once it heals back up in a couple of days, I get one or two days with no costo symptoms. The muscles between the ribs probably need to be heated up and relaxed before stretching.

Costo started up on me when I lost a routine I used to be able to do. I had a jacuzzi and a good massage chair, and I would do the jacuzzi for 10 minutes, then the chair, then back to the jacuzzi for another 10 minutes and then off to bed. I am moving back up with my daughter and son in law in the spring and helping them get a house of their own. First thing going in is either a jacuzzi or a big whirlpool tub and another one of those chairs. Probably a big tub since its cheaper and you can take Epson salt baths.

I used to get that symptom of the whole chest and ribs and even the collarbone feeling like they were in a vice and I suffocateing. One night it was so bad I had to take 4 mgs of Klonopin and sit in my chair and make myself relax and I could finaly breath.

By the way. Off topic, but I am into my second week of D-Ribose, I am floating in CoQ10 and taking allot of Acetyl L Carnitine and L Carnitine and I am not getting nearly the level of disorientation or brain fog or feel as drug sensitive and I now tend to sleep 6 to 8 hours in straight shots, whereas I was waking up 3 or 4 times a night for no apparent reason. I am hoping that reaches the point I feel like I have some excercise tolerance
