Here is my deliema...A couple of months ago, my doctor tried to make an appointment with a rhemy for me.The nurse called later that afternoon and said she had called their office and the girl making the appointment told her that they did not 'see' people like me.(my doc was trying to get me a concret dx because she is only a nurse practioner) So when I heard this news ,I was like,'well why go to him if he is not going to help and I ended up seeing a neuro instead.That was useless,de did a mri of my back and a nerve test that was normal.Mri said I had a few cysts on the remaining overy I have left and to see an obgyn.Well crap,I know its not my overy,they were one of the reason for my for getting all that stuff out in the first place, I remember what that felt like.Sorry...rambling.Soo,knowing all that..what should I tell my doc on the 26th  when I see her?It seems the only docs even remotly working with this stuff is the rehmys.help...

p.s. Still no word either from the pain managment doc they refferd me to. smhair

I'm so glad you didn't get an appt to see a 'dr' like that. If they don't believe and on board to help - You don't want them, either! I would suggest you still try to get a rheumy that does believe and treat FMS. Could you call your local hosp or even your ins co. to see if there is someone you could see. Are there any Arthritis Support groups in your area, maybe listing of meetings in local newspaper. You may even want to call individual rheumy offices listed in phone book. Ask if they treat & believe in FMS and if they take your ins. My former PCP dx me and sent me to rheumy for confirmation, then my PCP was the one to treat. She wasn't as helpful as I would have liked (a story in itself) but I have a new PCP who does believe and has started treating other serious conditions that my former PCP didn't bother herself about.

I had cysts on my ovary and had an hysterectomy, I thought that was my problem, also. I'm am in more pain than I was b/f the surgery and that's saying a lot.

You might ask here if anyone is in your area and know/see a good rheumy. I wish you good luck.

Thanks Irish...I appreciate it. I guess I should also mention..I've had insurance for the last 2 yrs but on the first of Jan. we had to drop it and I don't have any coverage at all now.It was going to cost to much to keep it.$1100 a month and that is jus to much.My husband would have brought home $50 a paycheck.And no word yet on the Medicaid....

It can be alot of trial and error and alot of time.  It took me one nuerologist to be diagnosed, one rheumy to tell me he doesnt treat that stuff,a pain spec who said the same, two docs before one took an interest and one more pain spec who took me on finally .... and now at least im medicated somewhat.Good luck you could strike it lucky with one of the ones your waiting on.  luck  sue2z

Thanks Sue.I just don't have any idea where to go from here.Its like they all sit on their hands and look at you like they fell off the watermelon wagon.Then if you make a suggestion,you don't know what your talking about.

 do some research so with norm doc you can make suggestions, thats what i did with my doc.  Everything Im on came from my own suggestion. e.g Lyrica helps me, and a muscle relaxant and a pain killer, but go with names of them all.  from sue2z
