I appreciate everyone taking the time to read and reply to my post.  I finally received the results of my biopsy(after 3mnths) yeah    The rashes on my elbows and legs is an autoimmune disease called Dessiminated Granuloma Annulare. My dermatologist believes this is somehow related to my fibro. Really isn't much i can do to treat this except for a topical corticosteriod or injections if no improvement.  I do believe fibro and the rashes are related because when i got the rashes on my legs over two weeks ago, i've been having a severe flare up with my fibro and had to go the rhumo yest for trigger point injections. cry   This is just another issue that fibro patients has to watch for and hope don't happen to them.  I'm sick of suprises (like rashes out of nowwhere) and feeling like i'm always sick and constantly something new occurring. devil   When will it end?????  But i know i'm not alone in this journey and glad that there are others that can relate to what i'm feeling.

I'm sorry you are having that problem.  I do have a type of dermatitis and I just use over the counter Cortaid cream.  It does help and clears it up pretty quickly.  It's cheaper than the prescription stuff and it has helped me.

 

Hope you get relief soon.

Yes yes, us fibromites do have to look out for a lot! rolleyes   Sorry for your autoimmune problem but you are certainly correct in saying that you are not alone..

And OUCH those injections don't sound too much like a good time cry cry

Your doctor actually said fibromyalgia was an auto immune disease? I find that surprising. Did he tell you how he knew this?

It is just that I have never had a doctor say this to me.

I am glad your rash can heal on its own.

Horray! I know it's never fun to get results telling you that yet another thing is wrong with you, but when they come back positive at least you don't feel crazy!

Hopefully it clears up soon!

I hope the rash clears up quickly now that you know what it is.

 

You know, my rheumy said something about fibro and other auto-immune disorders but by the time he had finished what he was saying I forgot to ask him what he meant by it. I will have to ask him next visit.

I ALSO HAVE A RASH ON MY ARMS AND A COUPLE STARTING ON MY BACK THEY DON'T ITCH ALL THAT MUCH BUT IT IS DEFINETLY SOMETHING I CALLED MY DR BUT STILL WAITING FOR THE CALL BACK SOME PEOPLE ARE TELLING ME IT LOOKS LIKE IT 'S A SIGN OF LUPUS I HOPE I GET ANSWERS SOON GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL

Fibromyalgia isn't an autoimmune disorder;however, the DR. believes that having this autoimmune disorder is somehow related to me having fibro. How and why???????? Mystery to me. All i know is i've never had problems with rashes in the past and when my fibro flared up in Sept. there was the rashes on my elbows (which are still there today). Then i became sick again over 2 wks ago and now there is the rashes on my upper thighs. ??? ur guess is as good as mine. =) spcdee

I had a researcher tell me that he is pretty positive Fibro is somehow in with AI diseases.  In all his years of research of AI diseases, Fibromyalgia was often present as well.  Not a definitive yes but certainly, caused them to look more closely at Fibro & AI's.  I thought that was quite interesting.  Hugs, Denise
