Hi guys,
This is my first post on this forum, well any forum really. First of all, I'm 25 years old and male. I've had this pain for 2 years as of this February. It all started when I was getting up from the couch I can remember the exact moment I felt it, but just wrote it off as indigestion or heartburn something like that. It never really went away kinda came and went, didn't really give it too much thought until it never went away. It's constant 24/7 I can feel the pain in my chest, it's like someone or something is pushing in on my chest and out on my chest at the same time. Feels like i'm having a heart attack almost all the time, It hurts near my sternum but always within like a 2-3 inch area surrounding.
I've been taking some mobic and some xanax and that seems to help but it's just masking it, doesn't actually fix it, just makes the pain and situation partially bearable. And getting a xanax prescription from my dr is like i'm in there asking for crack. I happened to have the mobic (meloxicam) around from a previous injury, I've torn my rotator cuff and dislocated my shoulder a few times, I was taking the mobic as I had dislocated my shoulder in Jan 2007, when i stopped taking it which was in mid march 07, i noticed the pain was a little more intense on the chest, so i"ve been taking it since. and I feel as if it does a little when in conjunction with the xanax. I've tried taking citalopram, lexapro, amytripyline as my dr seems to think it may be anxiety/depression, (which i've never really had, just slight cause of anxiety nothing too serious by any means, i just have a leg tap and can't sit still forever). But those medications make it so i can't see, think, function or anything, so i've stopped taking them as none of them worked.
I've seen like 10 different dr's, cardiologists, hospitals, GI's, etc etc, and no one has any idea what is going on. In fact as far as everyone is concerned I'm in perfect healthy condition, more healthy than an average person by far they always say.
I've been telling them I think it might be cosco, but once again I get treated like I'm crazy as I'm not a dr, i'm just a 25 year old guy with some pain that is apparently in my head, and is being compounded by my stress (which doesn't exist, other than from this 24/7 pain)
I've been at my witts end for well over a year, everday is a struggle to want to go out and do anything, to not feel the pain and live a normal life. I'm going back to the mayo clinic to see a different dr other than my normal, that is an osteopathic manipulator or something in a couple weeks to see if they can't tweak me, and then if that doesn't work they are going to shoot me in the chest with some type of injection that may help...But i've been running in circles for almost 2 years.
I'm sure i've left some stuff out, but this all just kinda came out in one giant run on sentence.
anyone? anything?
