Can we have a spell check??

I am getting so frustrated, I can't seem to spell anymore.  I have never had a problem before but now I can't even post here without misspelling a dozen words or more.  Ususally, I will type something & notice that a word is spelled wrong.  So, I will try to spell it about 6 different ways but nothing will look right.  So then, I have to figure out another word & then will have the same trouble spelling it & have to move on to yet another word replacement.  I have sometimes just given up & not posted at all.  Do you all have this much trouble?  I also have words I habitually misspell because I can't remember from one time to the next how to spell it.  Example: Friend  I always start by misspelling it Freind. So then I change it & then further down in the same post will spell it freind again, change it & then do it again further down.  I am really starting to worry about my mind.  Is this Fibro or have I just given my brains a subatacal, sabatical, subatical.......a rest?     Hugs, Denise

Oh Denise...It will take me three or four times to get through this small post.  I am always asking my husband how to spell things.  I have sent e-mails to people without checking and I get back a reply that says "What??"

Okay...I will write a sentence now without fixing the errors or staring at the keys.

Oh MY.  See what I  mean?  You certainly are not alone!  For me...it's not just the spelling...I can't even remember where my fingers should go on the computer keys!

I have always spelled well and I still have to look a word up every now and then to make sure it is spelled right. I Google too, like Sherrine said. I just can't type that good. If I write with a pen on a piece of paper I don't have any problems spelling. It's just when I use the keyboard!

Thanks for explaining that Chutz. I was going to write a post and say that my computer does spell check for these posts, but I don't know why. I use Firefox, too. It's a big help. Diane

I know exactly what you are talking about.  I used to be able to spell anything, not anymore.  I also question the words that I have spelled correctly because I'm not sure of myself.  I have often wondered if I was losing it .  Along with the spelling comes the words that I just can't remember anymore.  I know what I want to say but I just can't find the correct words; then I have to leave part of what I wanted to say out.  Frustrating!!!

I have the same problem from time to time. I have found if you use Firefox instead of internet explorer it has a spell check feature automatically set up for when you type it lets you know as you type. It has saved my posts more than once. lol Plus you have less errors than you get with internet explorer. As far as the fibro fog made up words well for that one I use Microsoft word which also has a grammar checker so even if I make up a word it will point it out to me since it is not recognized in the dictionary.

Thank you all for the responses.  With all the good ideas I will never have a problem again.  Now, wi only I could deal with my Fibro so easily.  LOL  I am going to use the spell checker for Internet Explorer & also download the Firefox.  I have used Firefox before on my old computer but just didn't think to put it on this one.  But then as I said, I didn't think.  I need to write this stuff down so I will remember in the future.  Hugs to all, Denise
