Honestly .... they're just not where I left.  Or think I left them ... or... tongue

OK.. I don't know where they are.  I'm not driving ... it would have to have been the last time I went for a walk when no one else was home - locked the door while I was gone.

So where do your keys turn up?.  I could try looking in similar places .... idea   Hope they're not in the fridge or something ...

Look in the freezer! Or the couch! Or under the table! Or in your junk drawer! Or stashed behind the toilet!

(Yes, these are all places where I have found my keys. Granted, my youngest was still a little toddler when I found them in that last place...I was just happy to have found them behind the toilet and not in the toilet! lol)

hmmm...they are usually in the diaper bag, or in the couch, or in the pockets of something I wore, or locked in the car, in the front door lock still. Good luck, I hope you find them.

I always look in the most ridiculous place first!!! 

Here's one for ya, my sister and I were going to lunch today about a half an hour away from home.  She wanted to visit a friend while we were out.  As we left her house she said, "I'd better call her & let her know we're stopping in, ooops I can't find my cell phone".  She asked if I had her friend's # .. I said sure.. but ooops I think I left my cell phone at home... OK.. she was heading back into her house and I was on my way back to my house, when I found my cell phone in my coat pocket.  So I pull back into her driveway, waited and waited and waited, and thought where the @^(^*@ is she?? what's taking so long??  I came up with the brilliant idea of calling her on her cell, that way she'd be able to find it.  LOL... she answers the phone and says "why are you calling me on my cell phone" - I said "I was trying to help you find your phone" LMBO, she said "Oooh, is that what I came back in the house for??"

It's wonderful to have someone else in your life that's as scatterbrained as I am... or is it???

Seems to be a very foggy Friday!! the 13th no less!!!

Yep, I would definitely check the freezer. That's the last place I found mine when they decided to get lost!

The last time I lost my house keys there were in the door lock from the day before.  Jeez...too bad no one saw them there and robbed us blind.  I could use some new furniture!  Car keys? Was loading some stuff in the van to take to Goodwill then couldn't find the keys.  Used the second set and took off.  The next day the Hubby found the first set in the street by the mailbox...I had obviously set them on the roof of the van after unlocking it to put the bags in.  We have spend almost $60 on gas caps in the past two months...all me!

Ooh! Your keys in the street story reminded me of something, Donna. One time I got a phone call from this strange woman saying "I have your wallet". Of course, my initial thought was. ermm..is this some sort of blackmail thing, lady? 'Cause if it is, you're screwed 'cause I don't have any money! Anyway, turns out she found it in the road while she was on one of her power walks through my neighborhood. Apparently I had..dropped it? left it on the roof of my car? I don't know. Somehow though it ended up in the street by our house. My hubby was really thrilled with that one, by the way.

How about inside the zippered pocket of your purse?! LOL! I hope you don't find yours there!

I'm sure you put them in some "safe" place - that's what I usually say when I'm missing something - I put it away safely - safely away from me!

omgosh, Patti! What a crack up. Julie, it is murse or manbag. heehee Did you find the keys, Rich? I find mine in the pantry, the bathroom, the bed or kitchen table amongst all the stuff I bring home from school, coat pocket??? We have a hook on the wall labled la clef, which I am pretty sure means the key in French. We have gotten into the habit of putting keys there and then I don't lose mine as much!

I am constantly leaving my keys in the car door. I will use them to unlock it and then get my kids situated in the car. Next I get in the driver's seat and close the door. I then realize that I don't have my keys, ask my 8 year old if she had them, plunder through my purse, forget what I was looking for until my daughter reminds me. Finally, I remember that I had to use them to unlock the car door and roll down my window to grab them. I'm pretty sure every task I undertake is just as complicated and my daughter is starting to think I'm losing it!

No sign of them yet.  They wandered off by themselves so I suppose they can find their way home.  eyes    I have offically reported them as missing to B. and my daughter.

To make the day worse - my beat down immune system has resulted in adrenal fatigue.  I'm taking a couple of supplements to jump-start my system and get hormones back in balance.  They are working I think - my face is breaking out today.  Yep ... that's right ... acne.  rolleyes   I was asking my daughter about it.  She's having great fun with it and was working on my face earlier.

I tell ya, there's no dignity with this stuff.  I don't want to be 13 again.  shakehead I want Fri 13'th to be over .... yeah

After years of training myself, 90% of the time they end up on the hook by the door. The other 10% of the time, I have to search in all the usual places: the freezer, behind the snake cage, in my pocket. Tip - the microwave will short out a car alarm key pad.

I really get nuts when I've spent 20 minutes searching then find out my husband accidentally took both sets with him.

Did you check in the car Rich??? I never take my keys out of my car, it's in the garage all the time. When I'm shopping or something I put them in a pocket of coat or pants. If I put them in my purse that may take an hour to find.

 

Many years ago my DH left the keys in the door of the car, we had then, in Las Vegas with all our luggage in it, he doesn't have fibro. Thank goodness an honest person seen them and took them into a shop right in front of where we were parked and the employee watched for us to come back to the car. This is the same man that left $5,000.00 under the mattress in a motel in Phoenix and didn't realize it til we stopped for gas. Thank goodness they had not cleaned the room when he called and the money was still there.  That was before bank cards.

 

We have a problem with house keys and right now neither of us has a key to our house, if the electricity ever goes out while we are out we are up a creek since the garage door won't work. Son suggested a keypad for one of the doors, like we will remember the #s.

I guess you weren't supposed to go anywhere .. maybe the big guy upstairs (aka God) is looking out for you, and you're suppose to sit tight for a day or two.
I always leave my keys in the car in the garage. There's no way anyone can get in there and if they do and steal my 6 year old car that fully insured ... help yourself, I was looking to get a new car anyway.. lol!!

Hey Patti, if someone breaks in my garage to steal my car I hope they load it to the max with some of the crap out there then they would really be doing me a favor. devil

LOL.. Marlee.. Yeah, that goes w/o saying, my garage is overflowing with REALLY important stuff that we never use.  Like paint from 10 years ago, nuts and bolts that don't fit each other or anything else known to mankind.  Oh and let's not forget all of those fishing poles, exercise mats, floation devices for those trips to the lake that we never make, a big bundle of rags that we'll need someday when we wash the car ( but we don't have a faucet anywhere near the driveway.. can't wash the car with no water out there), and the list goes on and on.  I made a deal with my DH, I'll clean out that extra bedroom when he cleans out the garage.  So, that will happen in, like, about 40 years, when we're both long gone and the kids are fighting over the house & it's ancient, dusty, cobbwebby contents. heheheh devil

They finally got tired of running away and came home.. turn

It's two keys - car and house - on a small ring I can take off the main ring.  When I got home from my 10 min walk yesterday, I decided to look some more.  Checked some coat pockets (again), the tops of things, took the cushions off the couch, checked the creases of my wife's Lazboy and moved it out to look underneath.  Nothing.

Checked the creases of my Lazboy and moved it out.  Nothing.  Pushed my Lazboy back ... and there they were  yeah   The pockets of my sweat pants are shallow so they probably slid out and thru the Lazboy.  I'm thinking the hook idea sounds like a good one  yeah yeah    It would save me a lot of trouble.

I once heard it said, if you can't find something, try to remember where you last saw it, it's most likely within 18"of where you last saw it. How clever. What if you can't remember where you last saw it? I have a back-up for everything important. As far as the house, I have two house keys, two pair of reading glasses, etc. I don't bother to lock the car. If someone stole it they wouldn't get far. Since it dropped it's rear end in my foray into the ditch two weeks ago, it is useless in any ammt. of snow. All I would have to do is lister for tires spinning, likely a block away. I have lost my wallet three times in the last six months. It does reassure me of my faith in mankind, every time someone found it and turned it in, untouched. This is stress.

I lose stuff all the time keys in freezer sunglasses on top of head. Keys have actually been in my hand I will look 20 minutes with my daughter going mom are you ready. then i tell her what im looking for and she tells me keys are in my hand ...(not funny) my kids think Im crazy My son has actually started saying ( darn fibro)
