Hello and Welcome Angeline!!
I'm so glad you found us and you'll be happy you did. This is an awesome forum, with folks that really care.
Patsie did a great job of explaining the anti-depression meds issue. My doc says that the anti depressant "calms" the neurons that are constantly firing in my brain, causing pain and confusion. Personally I don't really care, as long as it puts the pain and fog at bay. I believe that Lyrica is the only med out there that doesn't contain an anti depressant.. but I'm not a phamacist so I can't be sure. So far the Elevil and Tramadol are working well for me. When I have a really bad pain day I can also add Ibupro.
I totally understand your feelings of being too young to feel so old. My mom is 81 and there are days when she can run circles around me.
The other issue about the medical industry basically blowing off our symptoms is a problem that many of us have faced. A lot of us have been through test after test and long periods of time before we got any answers. No one wants this awful syndrome, but.. it's a relief to finally have a name for what we are experiencing. And with a forum like this, its nice to know that we're not alone or lazy or crazy.. we have an illness.
Again welcome to the forum, keep posting and let us know how you're doing.
Take care,
