Well I got to say this has ben with work geting underway, I am going tio talk ppl as much posible and find out whats up al of you. I realy mis everyone so hard and its been so hard reading the posts then niot being able to answer. I start speach thepy  this will take alot work. I dont know if I wil ever get it back it was before. They dont whick tests they want first,htat want toi look for any bloodvesels might have then ready to blow. Thats whats scares me the most, I dont want tio be vegetable if that is the case then take all from me now. I mis you and love you and so you still have your write and you can all together.

It is wonderful to hear from you. Thanks for having your hubby write to us also.

It takes a while to recover from strokes and it is a lot of hard work. However, modern day therapies are pretty effective.

In addition, we live via this internet and you do not have to talk to communicate with friends.

My daughter is blind and she still communicates via the net. This is why she is on it all day long.

Anyway, I am happy that you posted tonight. You should be in bed though.

Dear QTKaren: I am sorry you are having such difficulties. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make it all go away. You have an uphill climb ahead of you. You will need a lot of faith, Determination and support. God works in mysterious ways. Often when something bad happens, we don't understand why. Then several years llater, we discover we are being used for a greater purpose. It's just that when we are going through the anguish, we do not see through to the other side.

I love those ah-ha moments, when after much work and struggle, one gets to see why. Why things happen the way they do. I hope you can find a silver lining inside this cloud soon. God Bless You and yours.

Dear Karen,

I was so very happy to see your post.  The fact that you are thinking like you are is huge.  You are a fighter and will get that speech back.

This morn' I woke up with pretty bad pain and then read your words.  I will think of you often and pray hard for you.  I have nothing to complain about and you know how hard this thing is on all of us.

Please write when you feel you can and do let us know about therapy.

((((Karen))))) I'm so glad you're keeping in touch!! It good for you to communicate as much as you can. I'm sure your speech therapist would agree. Try to form the word with your mouth, (if you can), while you type, it might help you. You might not be able to do it yet but as you get better it will come naturally.
Keep up the good work!! I know its hard, but you'll snap back quicker than you think if you keep trying.

I am so glad that you are keeping us updated.  We love you and want to know how you are doing.  I'm sure it is very frustrating wanting to talk and not being able to but with hard work and some time, things will return to you.

Please check in as much as you can and let us know how things are going.

Hi Karen!

You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers and I think it is "great" you can communicate, even if it is via the internet! I understood what you wrote! It sounds like they are being thorough- which is a very "good" thing, so try not to worry (HA!). You are going to get through this- as scary as it is. 

You have a big cheerleading squad here rooting you on!! yeah yeah

Hi, Karen!  When you start your therapy, go with the attitude that you will beat this.  Keep working and doing your best and you just might surprise yourself!

 

My mother had a brainstem stroke...one of the worst types of strokes.  She nearly died from it.  She had the stroke in the middle of October that year.  She couldn't speak, swallow, or even dress herself.  She had physical therapy and speech therapy and by the middle of December she could talk, dress herself, eat, and drink!  So, you don't know how things will turn out unless you really try.  I"m so glad you are going to be getting help now.  I'll be praying that you beat this.

Karen, it was good hearing from you again.  Sherrine gave you good advice and I know your a fighter.  Things will start getting better when you get into your therapy.  In meantime there is a lot of prayers going up for you.  You know mine will be one of them.  Don't give up and keep the faith.  Think positive!!!!

Karen, I have missed hearing from you & please, thank Jason for being so kind & keeping us posted. I am so glad you are doing better & are able to come here & write a post. That is a major accomplishment & shows you are a fighter. You have always been such a caring, dear person & you deserve only the best. It sounds like your medical team is right on top of everything & that must give you & Jason so much comfort. I am sending you many gentle hugs. You take care of yourself & keep up the good work. Wow!! I see so many friends and it makes my heart happy. I am doing good today so far but am going back toi bed soon cause I have ben realy tired in the mornings and need sleep. I have geting plenty of sleep but not to mucn. It takes me so long just to write a post sighhhh. I wish I could hug al of you and have go sime of be with me most . Well time for me to go for now. I loved seing all you and it does make me hapy. Oh git to to tell you guys got out in the sunshine and it was wonderful!!! bought lots of new cloths for me and the kids. Ok I will stop for now tookme alot of time to write this post lol,
