I like to wait atleast a year or two after a new drug comes out because thats when you really hear about all the "bad" side effects, or possibly any deadly effects that can happen, cause it seems to happen more when it's on the market then when it's in the trial phase. Like with that one painkiller, cant remember the name, I beleive it was slow release diladid, and they found out that people where dying when it was mixed with alchol, and they very fast pulled it off the shelf.

But if I hear great things about it, then maybe I will ask, but I will wait and let other's be the test rats. And I havent heard much about what meds it can and cannot be mixed with. Kinda like with Cymbalta your not suppose to mix it with triptan type meds, but after asking several doctors, they agreed since my migraines are now under control, and I barely take my Imitrex, it should be fine. And so far so good, but pain wise I am noticing I'm a bit better, But I am disappointed that it isnt helping with my anxiety/deression a much as I thought it would.

So I will wait a while, then ask around again, and maybe try it to see if it helps with the depression part also. But the only problem I will face is that it's very brand new, so I'm sure it'll cost a leg and arm, maybe even my first born. Cause I'm on state insurance since I'm on SSI, and they dont like to pay for any drug unless it's over 50 years old, or so it seems lol. But I will be excited to hear what you guys have to say about it, since I dont know many people with fibro who want releif, so i look to you guys for information on new things to ask my doctor about. Waiting to see about the side effects and other issues is excellent advice.  I will definitely wait and see what happens.  Hello~Kitty, you mentioned the pain medication the was taken off the market... maybe Vioxx?  I took that stuff for knee pain and it worked fabulously, then I found out it was causing all sort of problems, so had to stop!  (My doctor had given me samples)

Also, I'm sure you are right about the cost.  It will be outrageous, I'm sure.

The medicine that I was talking about that was pulled wasnt vioxx (yet that one was pulled too) but this one was a narcotic, I remmber that, it was a slow releasing one, that when mixed with drinking caused the slow release coating to disolve and released all the meds at once and caused overdoses. Even though this new med isnt a narcotic, I still like to wait and hear about side effects, I'm always stressed over side effects cause I seem to be sensitive to them, and like to research it throughly and talk to people who have tried it like I did for the Cymbalta and Lyrica and especially the Suboxone (took me over a year to finally try it). Thats just the way I am, cause after that weird side effects I got from the Reglan and Compazine, I have been scared to death of side effects.

If I were able too, I would go ahead and try it. (I would, not saying anyone else should) a.) Im not afraid to try things. b.)I've never had any reaction from any meds I've taken c.) someone has to try it! d.)Its not necessarily new since its been used in Europe

So, I have my reasons for wanting to try it. I am also taking Paxil...DOESNT help me. (just a smidge) and I was taking Lyrica(16 months) but just recently weaned off of it... I havent been sleeping as good and I have been more sore, but its not totally dreadful. So, Im going to try to wait a while before trying something else. But, I would totally try the Savella when its available, if I could or whatever.

But, thats my opinion. Its a personal decision. Just weigh your opinions and take as much as you can into consideration before trying something new. Only you will know if its right for you or not.
