Well, I went to the new rheumy today and she thinks that I'm in a horrible fibro flare rather than a Lupus flare. Either way, this headache is about to do me in. I can't get rid of the pain! The doc is 2 hrs away so we went out  for a nice lunch before my appt and that came up before I was halfway through the meal. I came home and sobbed like someone had died. I am at a low point right now....maybe the change from the Cymbalta back to Prozac  has something to do with it...the sobbing I mean. I'm so exhausted that I don't know which end is up! And to beat all when I got home there was a message that my radiological interventionalist doc wants a conference with me BEFORE he fills out the disability papers. If things go true to form, it will take months to get an appt with him and he too is 2 hrs. away.! So I sobbed some more! What could he possibly want to talk to me about? I have been going to him for years, trying to get better so he should know that I am really trying. What great things will today bring?????????? I'm getting truly depressed.

I'm sorry you are having such a rough time.  I don't really have any advice to offer, but I'm sending you a cyber (((hug))).  Hopefully, your doc. will get things moving quickly for you.  It seems like with fibro, it rains, then it pours, then it thunderstorms.  Hang in there.

All I can offer is maybe rather than waiting the two to three months to get consult with Radiologist, you could get on the cancellation list. Let them know how much lead in time you'll need ie 2-3 hours advance notice. Usually, cancellations are made 24 hrs. in advance. Good luck.

Sorry things are a little rocky for you right now.  I agree with Tyno.. see if you can get on a cancellation list, that way they'll know you need to get in ASAP.  The longer they make you wait the longer it will be before you get your disability... Let them know that!!  Even though you've been going there for years, you're still the one that's paying the doctor, so that make YOU the boss.

I hope you're feeling a little better today.  Let us know how things are going.

I'm sorry you are having such problems.  Can you request a phone consultation with that doctor?  You wouldn't have to drive 2 hours away and the consultation could probably be done soon.  He might just need a little more information to clarify something.  Our minds can really blow things out of proportion when we are upset.

 

I hope your headache goes away soon and that you are feeling much better.

I am so sorry you are hurting like this. I am also sorry your doc. is so far away. I have no decent advice for you, sorry. But I do have cyber hugs and warm wishes that you feel better soon. Headaches are no fun at all.

First of all, I'm assuming you're a nurse-which I know can make things worse, cause you know what's going on. Anyway, I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with your pain and the disability thing. LOL-in fact, if I didn't know any better, I'd say that we are the exact same person. wink Anyway, if there's anything I can do-even if you wanna just talk, shoot me an email (click on the little envelope under my name). I promise that I will write back. LOL-everyone here knows just how much I love to talk. yeah

OK, I hope I said something to help you feel better. OH! Since you might be a nurse, maybe you'll appreciate this joke. I think it's good for anyone in our situation. :-)

I'm sorry your having such a rough time right now. It could be the med change that has you so emotional. I would ask for a phone consult too, that is silly to go 2hrs for probably something that is not going to amount to anything. I called my rheumy's office and they weren't going to give me the results of my vit D test unless I came in and talked to the doc so I insisted to know what it was. I paid for the darn test I have a right to know what it was without paying another office visit to find out the results.

 

I talked to my GP last visit about SSI and he said I was for sure 100% disabled and my rheumy or the pain doc I had seen a couple of times could only say the samething about me.

 

Hope things get better.

docs here (Canada) insist on seeing patients for everything. Prescription refills, test results, even if negative. They get paid by the ammount of time (facetime), they are with you. I too, have to drive 200 miles to see my doc. He is the only one for 200 miles that will treat my Fibro pain. Everybody around here is practicing middle ages medicine. The fancy word is, evidence-based. That means if they cannot see the problem on an x-ray, it does not exist. When did we slip back to the 1600's when the world was flat because it looked flat. I don't think it's progressive. I have my own theories about why, but I'll spare you that lecture.

Nurse. Hope that you are doing better today. The switch from Cymbalta to Prozac might just be causing the sobbing. I know that when my dr switched me from zoloft to wellbutrin that I crashed emotionally. It was so bad that I was borderline suicidal. I think the dr screwed up because she didn't wean me off the zoloft before the wellbutrin and since they are in different families I basically went off the one cold turkey. That was not a very good time in my life but I made it through and I think you can too. We are here to help. Lisa

Good morning but mine have been a variety of good, bad and worse lately. Somehow I think the changes in the weather have been increasing the pain. Last week I had a series of 3 days that were terrible. I am on Cymbalta but if I forget a dose I can tell that small things start bothering me. Anytime you change a med it can have no reaction but it also can carry an array of side affects.
Keep trying to find out what is making you worse. MDs only know so much. A friend of mine used to say that is why they call it "the practice of medicine."
Florida's weather cannot make up its mind right now...

Just wanted to check in and see if you're feeling any better. I do hope that nasty headache has gone away and that your issues with your med switch has started to even out. I'm thinking of you-please check in with us when you can.

Prozac is in the same class as Paxil. I went through h--- getting off of Paxil. Emotional rollar coaster, no help with pain, sweats, chills, it went on two weeks. I went to detox cause at least there they knew about withdrawl. I hope this ends soon for you.
