Been lurking for a little while and decided to take the plunge.

I have not been diagnosed, by choice. My GP tells me I probably have fibro. I do not want the diagnosis on record because in a couple of years DH and I will be looking to get independent insurance and can't have the rates sky high. So, I research, try to do things on my own and bandaid the problems that keep popping up.

Here's the latest and it's very frustrating indeed. about 10 days ago, I felt some pressure in my bladder/uterine area. I then noticed a somewhat white discharge. Emailed the doc cuz assumed I had a yeast infection. Took my meds, but didn't get any better. Went to see her on Thursday and she tells me I have a bacterial infection, not yeast. Now on new meds (topical) - 5 day course. Started applying two days ago.

Here's how I was feeling: Terrible burning, couldn't determine if it was in the bladder or uterus. Uncomfortable in the area all the time, worse when sitting upright. Burning doesn't get any better or worse. Feels like a big ball of squishy, yucky stuff inside that radiates a burning sensation. Felt better yesterday after first dose, feel worse again today, after second dose.

Took my first real walk of the spring yesterday as well and hurt all over today. Hips, butt, legs, back...

I've had urinary issues previously and a year ago had a TVT sling inserted. No problems until now, and NOT the same symptoms that led to the TVT.

I feel wiped out all the time and completely unmotivated. I work full time, so weekends are supposed to be my project catch-up time. All I'm doing is getting mad because all of the projects I told myself I'd accomplish aren't even started.

I could go on and on....but I really wanted to see if anyone has had similar symptoms as I've described in the bladder/female areas.

I don't think you have FM.  Sounds like bladder or female problems.

Hello there Hazelbird!!!

I just wanted to say hello and welcome you to the forum.  Since you've been lurking I'm sure you already know about the second thread on the forum called Fibro 101.  There's lots of info on there that might help you and of course you can always go back and read past threads that might be insightful to you. 

I don't have the problems you have, but I do have the wonderful, frequent urination problems.  At times I can't go more than an hour before I've got to gooooo. 

Fibro really zaps your energy.  I know how hard it is to work full time and try to get things accomplished over the weekend, when all you want to do is sleep and rest up for the upcoming week.  I'm not working right now.. but I did work a job that required me to put in about 60-70 hours a week.  It dang near killed me.  When I DID have a weekend off all I could do was veg.  I would come home, fix dinner or go out to dinner sit in my chair and fall asleep till it was time to get up and actually get into bed.

Does the doc. have you on any meds?  Hopefully if all goes through with the health care program the gov. will start and it won't hold a "pre-exsisting condition" against you.  That's so unfair.  When I married my husband I had some pre-exsisting conditions that our insurance wouldn't cover for 2 years.  I needed medical attention and couldn't get it because of those conditions.  No wonder people are going into medical bankruptsy (sp?).  So my conditions got worse and we couldn't afford to do anything about them but wait.

I'm glad you decided to climb aboard our Forum!!  As you know, we really care about eachother and love to help one another with medical and personal issues.  And we love to have a few laughs to get us through the difficult days.

Yes, I have perused through the fibro 101 and it has been quite helpful. There's no doubt I'll be hanging out here more because hearing others' stories certainly helps me to feel less alone.

I'm not on any meds currently, with the exception of the topical for bacterial infection and a baby aspirin each day. I go back next month and am pretty sure I'm going to talk to her about possible muscle relaxers for bed time. Otherwise, I usually just "muddle through".

Hi and welcome

I have the frequent urination, and sometimes I feel like I have a bladder infection. When I do the home test strips by AZO, it shows no infection.

The drs always test my urine microscopically just to make sure, and its never an infection.  Frequent urination is part of fibro.

Hi Hazelbird and welcome. I haven't had any bladder or female problems since getting fibro. Now sometimes when I have to urinate I feel an urgent need but not always.

 

I'm wondering if your doc thinks you have fibro and an ins co. wants your medical records before they insure you if that won't be on there anyway????

 

There is no way I could put in a 40 hr week working but by some miracle I did I don't think I would be doing anything on the weekend either. I have so many projects to get to but I'm as slow as a snail. I started cleaning out my kitchen cabinets last week and before fibro I could have done most of them in one day and now it will take me weeks to get them all done. Fatigue is a big issue with me.

 

I keep saying that my DH has no idea how lucky he is that I have this forum to complain on instead of complaining to him when he gets home.

Thanks everyone for listening. I'm pretty sure what I'm feeling can best be described as fake bladder infection. Yesterday the pressure and burning were intense, but so were the body aches. (Mostly because I tried to push myself the day before)  Horrible! Today, feeling pretty good and minimal burning/pressure. Wondering if perhaps the "fake" bladder infections are timing themselves with flare-ups? Dunno.

But....just so glad to be feeling better today (left knee , shoulders and lower back hurt...but that's all!), because you never know what tomorrow will bring!

Hi hazelbird and Welcome-

I don't have the bladder thing going on since getting fibro either. But it does sound like your on top of things and hoping the meds will start to clear this up for you soon. The fibro hit me so hard I could not walk 30 ft. It has taken me months to be able to walk 3 long blocks, be able to go to the grocery store for a few groceries, and walk a third of the mall. I know I have to keep walking/moving or the pain is worse for me. I think it is great you got out for a walk even though your paying for it. In time I think that will get better for you.

Like Marlee said, with fibro we can do projects it just takes longer- I too could get things done in no time before and now it takes me days and days. I have been working on my basement- and it is an ugly project. Can hubby start a project and you join in a little? Do you get any help around the house and working fulltime?
