Hi drowsy and welcome!!
I'm very glad you have joined our family. This is a caring bunch and I hope you will feel at home here.
about
vitamin D...I'll tell you what my doctor told me. Research shows that many people with fibromyalgia are low on vitamin D so taking a supplement is a good thing. He had me take about
1200 units if I remember right...but always ask your doctor what is right for you. Adding vitamin D did not help my pain.
I found tons of information on what vitamin D can do and the link below is to a good, but intense, report if you want to read it. It talks about
magnesium and vitamin D in fibro. Yet...at the NIH site I found an research abstracts that shows vitamin D has no affect on pain relief in fibromyalgia patients and one that shows it does.
I guess the jury is still out. But if your doctor is OK with you taking some it might not hurt to try. Doctors can only work with what they have when it comes to fibro..it's very difficult for them. Some research shows that magnesium/malic acid does nothing yet we have many people here who use it and get great relief.
I hope this helps more than confuses...lol
