An update

I know I haven't been around for a while so I thought I'd stop by and tell you all about my first trip to my pain management doctor yesterday. After all the questions and poking and proding, he confimed my fibro dx for a third time now. He thinks something may come out of my autoimmune test that they ran this summer which came out just a little bit above normal. Other than that, he says I have nothing to worry about. He actually told me more than just "Excersie, Diet, and learn about the disease" like I've heard from every doctor. Right now he's set me up with a really easy exercise plan that I feel I can get just by walking around campus, which leaves more time for all the studying 'm doing right now! He cheacked my vitamin D level and will work with me to find a proper level for that, especialy during the sunless Oregon winter. He gave me some nature of vitamin suplement, Lidoderm patches (which are not big enough when your body hurts! But you can wear 4 at a time...) and put me back on neurontin. He recomended I go to a PT who understands pain and a pain psychologist for biofeedback, which intrigued me. He also has back up plans, which makes me feel more comfortable than just being handed a bottle of pills. I feel like he's actually concerned with helping me get my life back!
He also mentioned something about the cause of fibro that I haven't heard before. He said that there was a diffrent recombination of genes in our seretonin receptors, or something like that, which is coding for a diffrent protein in fibro patients. He also said it tends to affect intellegent, hard working, creative, emotionaly sensitive people. We all kind of sound like that on here! At the time it sounded sort of like a complement...
