Ibuprofen causing arm pain and numbness

I noticed that every time I take Ibuprofen during the day as a adjunct because my body is moving and the injured areas are hurting more, it will help on those areas that have to move, like stuff connected to the spine, but then my arms from the shoulders down get numb, sore, and feel weak. I can't imagine why this is happening unless it interacting with the other drugs. I took 600 milligrams of Gabapentin and still couldn't stand to be at the computer. So I took half a Percocet and still no change.

I didn't want to take more of either Gabapentin or Percocet, so I took 3 Ibuprofen. 20 minutes latter the computer posture pain in chest and back is gone and both of my arms are hurting like I had gone out and lifted weights the day before. Does this every time to some level. I know Gabapentin interacts with Aleve, but its just supposed to increase your blood level of Gabapentin.

This really baffles me. A NSAID pain killer causing pain in areas that never hurt unless I use that drug.

I am writing in response because I have been struggling with extreme pain in my left arm and  shoulder, and sometimes tingling and weakness in my lower arm and hand. I also have intense bouts of chest pain that feels like a MI but happens so often, it couldn't be. Also that pain between the shoulder blades, intense and infuriating. I chalk it all up to Fibro, and doing too much. I, lately haven't been doing much but the shoulder and arm still hurt. A lot, almost all the time.

I have been fighting this intense, coming and going chest, sternum, rib pain for a couple of years, mainly since I got off my rear end after sitting on it for about 2 years without any excercise. So, anyhow, I go out of the house finally and start walking. It turns into a obsession for me and there I am walking like 8 miles a day, while the back and chest are getting worse and worse, but I kept pushing and my Doctor keeps telling me push through that pain.

Well, long story short, there was no pushing through that pain where it was going to get better. So finally I stopped doing it, the obsessive walking that is, and have been fighting with the back, rib and chest pain ever since. I searched all over the net trying to match symptoms and I kept coming up with Costocondritis. So I did what it said you could do and tossed NSAIDS at it and it got no better. Finally, I bought a Inverter to traction my back, and started doing side stretches and I got some improvement. At least the chest stopped feeling like a heart attack everyday. But it never reached the point of gone.

Thinking this was Costocondritis and inflammation, I didn't think a nerve pain drug like Gabapentin would work, but I was laying there in bed so sore the other night and nothing else would calm it down, so in desperation, I went over and grabbed a bottle of Gabapentin a Doctor had prescribed me two years ago and I took two capsules, and within 30 minutes, all the pain in my body was gone.

It doesn't do a whole lot for me during the day when I am moving. Maybe calms it down a bit. But when I get home and lay down its a wonder drug. I don't know if this is a issue of one of the god knows how many aspects of Fibro or if my back actualy has nerve damage and its radiateing out into the ribs and chest, but I couldn't believe how well it worked.

But, thats just me. My Fibro diagnoses is preaty much half baked anyhow. I post here because its the closest thing on the myriad of symptoms for me, and there is no forum for "I got no idea whats happening and neither do my Doctors and Shrinks."

I had more muscle (?) pain when taking gabapentin (generic neurontin) along with worsening headaches. I was only taking 300-400mg/day along with 200-300mg celebrex. I also take 5mg valium at bedtime for sleep and pain. 1.25+ daytime as needed but get VERY GROGGY!

I have had the same pain issue with other meds and supplements I believe due to an intolerence to either the active ingredients or INACTIVE ingredients like corn or soy.

I have a herniated disk C6-7 but have been told that my headaches/neck/shoulder/arm problems are probably more due to fibromyalgia and not nerve issues from neck damage. I get pain in my right shoulder/blade/upper/forearm/wrist/hand into index finger.
