Sick...or is it just a flare?

Last night I started getting a sore throat and slight headache. Today, I wake up feeling HORRIBLE. I have a headache that makes me just sit and stare and not move. Sore throat. And I am hurting SO bad all over. Every muscle in my body is killing me. I dont have to move or anything, Im just hurting so bad. I havent done anything today but crash on the couch.

So, Im wondering. Am I actually sick(again)? Or could this possibly be a flare? I have been on Lyrica for a long time(until recently) and so I didnt really have flares that often. But, Im wondering can they cause headaches and sore throats and such?

The other thing is, I get this same thing about every other month or so... the very same thing. Sore throat. Headache. Pain ALL over. My neck hurts most, all up into my head. But, my knees, fingers, every little joint and muscle hurt. Normally, I get worse and I'll get a slight fever and I'll stay sick about 10 days. Thats how long the last time...In January/ February is when I was last sick with this.

Well, I have to go. Being up makes my head feel WAY worse..and my back and everything is hurting really bad. Thanks for the help  

Possibly, I get it about every 3 months though. Its the same thing I was sick with earlier this year. I was really sick for 10 days...

Yea, last time I went to the doctor twice. I was anemic, had bronchitis, and a viral infection... I think... But, nothing they gave me helped. Personally, I thought they were quacks! But, thats just me! lol

Its possibly that I could have overdone it....however, I havent done anything out of the norm lately. Yea, I've been going out, but nothing extreme or anything. So, I dont think its that.

I been resting all day. I want to get out, but I dont even feel like moving. I had to force myself to get on here to check all of my stuff. My shoulders up my neck and into my head hurt more than anything. And if I get up and walk, my leg muscles and my knees hurt as well. But, its the same thing I always get sick with. I dont really understand it. It might just be a bug, but why do I get it repeatedly every few months? Ya know, its just kind of.....odd or strange. That has me a bit worried..... But, see, thats why I thought maybe it could be a flare. I know Fibro can cause all kinds of strange things. But a sore throat and fever? It fits the soreness and headache but I just dont know...

But, I usually just take it as it comes and ride it out. Im not big on doctors cause when I go it never helps so... I usually dont unless Im sick for a long time or get a fever for a while... then I MIGHT go.. lol Im just a reluctant/stubborn kind of person when it comes to that....

If the throat keeps hurting like that it might be wise to get a throat culture.  This is the time of year strep seems to hit.  My daughter, when a toddler, had a strep infection with NO sore throat but her neck hurt her to the point she could barely move it.

 

Tennis, you have fibro so sickness causes stress which causes pain so you could have a bug and a bit of a flare, too.  Do you have a fever?  Just take it easy and see how it goes for you.  As others have said, drink a lot of fluids...especially juices and water.  I hope you feel better soon!

I feel like I am always asking myself these sort of questions. "Is it fibro or am I dying? Is it fibro or do I need antibiotics? Is it fibro or....?"
My symptoms are very much like your (coming and going in a pattern, focusing on my neck/ shoulders, hard to walk...) except every once in awhile all my lymph glands will swell and be painful. For someone else a lump in their armpit might send them running to the doc, but I now know that this is my norm. Its difficult to figure out when to raise the alarm, when to go to the doc, the ER, so on.
I have a seperate calendar in my bedroom where I write down odd or new symptoms Ive had that day so I can keep track of side affects to drugs, when I am sick or if I've had this recurring symptom before. I figure if it happens in a pattern, its fibro. Viruses are more random when they show up.
