Hi guys.  I have another question to ask?  I know that the cold bothers alot of us, and bothers me a little.  But it seems like the heat is more bothersome for me.  We have been getting 80-90 degree weather here and I feel terrible.  My joints hurt, the bottom of my feet hurt, I generally feel like I have the flu.  I felt the same way last summer.  At least in the winter I don't mind or feel that bad about going out.  But when it gets hot out I am a hermit crab for the summer.  Does anyone else feel like this when it is hot out?

Oh yes, the heat is really, really hard on me too.  I can't tolerate temperatures warmer than about 75F (25 celcius). Even at about 60F I have the air conditioning on in the car.  I wear short sleeves in the winter smurf .  I feel like I have the flu as well.  I know that the cold seems to affect people with Fibro more, but I'm the opposite.  It's the heat that does me in. You're definitely not alone!

I am bothered by heat, especially when it is humid. Are you in a climate with a lot of humidity? I think that the barometric pressure bothers us a lot too.

I like it about 70 degrees. That is where I am most comfortable. But yes heat bothers me and so does cold.

Yes it is humid in the summer. I hate it. My favorite weather is 60-70. They say it is going to be in the 70's by mid week. I can't wait.

Yep, Anne, we fibromites need PERFECT weather.  We love 60's and 70's with sunny skies, no humidity, and a high pressure over us!  Haven't found the perfect spot to live, though!  LOL

I live in New England and we have just gone from beautiful days in the 60s to 80 overnight.  I can't bear it.  As many of you have said, I am a hermit crab in the summer.  Air conditioning s my friend.

I love the heat; I love sitting in my hot car after work, I love sweating in a sauna, I even love hanging around in the laundry room when the dryers are all going and it's about 100 degrees. However, add just a little humidity, and I can't function.

I left New England because of the humidity and moved to the Southwestern desert. I don't have nearly as many bad days and the bad ones aren't as bad as they used to be.

I only like the heat from a hot shower and heating pads. I can't stand the heat from the weather outside. If it get above 68 degrees I just can't take it.

I'm with most of you,the heat does me in. Add menopause to the equation and you'll find me being a hermit next to the window air conditioner unit,with it on full blast . I miss the days when I enjoyed cutting the lawn with a push mower and did a lot of a gardening work.

Absolutely. I hate the heat, especially when it's combined with high humidity. The past 3 days here have been in the low 80's and I am feeling just awful. Looking forward to Tuesday, when temps are supposed to drop back down into the 60's and stay that way for awhile. That's my kind of weather!

I like the temperature to be between the 60s and 70s also. I cannot tolerate heat, never could. I bought one of those room air conditioners that you place inside the house. Oh, it is great. It also uses very little electricity so my bills do are not that high.

We are getting another one soon. That way when we move into our house, we will have air conditioning! lol

We had an ultra-cold winter and for weeks on end it was -20 or more (not including wind chill). I thought I was going to die from the cold squeezing my bones. It has (thankfully) warmed up but today we had our first humid day, which is rare for us, and I have been in agony. My knees feel gigantic and my elbows and neck are all throbbing. I tried to move around and work thru it but that didn't feel good at all. So maybe for me it's more humidity and cold than heat.

My only recommendation- Enjoy the days outside when it's at a comfortable temperature for you and otherwise stay inside with the AC on when possible. When it comes to weather, there's really not a whole lot people can do. Most people like myself fair better in warmer weather so sometimes it's smarter to live in a dryer, warmer climate. Is it the rapid changing in weather or does the heat constantly get to you? Something that will probably help is if you keep up a healthy diet and drink A LOT of water. When I say a lot, I don't mean drink so much that you drown yourself, but stay hydrated and that will help keep your body temp down when you're forced to be out in the hot weather.

Like others it depends on the humidity and pressure. We need a climate controlled bubble for fibromites.

have to cool my car before i go some place

If i dont, i get so weak i want to pass out

 

Guess I just have to learn to live with my

limitations cry   I'm learning so much from you

For me, it takes a long time for my body to register the temperature changes...for example, if I come inside from being in the heat and I sit down in a chilly air conditioned room--it will take me an hour before I stop sweating and wanting to strip all my clothes off! It can be pretty embarrassing to be the only person sweating like a pig!
If anyone has tips for getting your body to adjust to temp changes better, I would love them!
