First of all, I apologize for being absent over the last few weeks. I had a friend visiting me from CA, so that took up a lot of my time.

Anyway, some of you know that I've been having bleeding issues in between my periods. My pap was negative and my doc started me on the pill, but I am still bleeding (it's usually pretty light, BTW). Also, my hormones have been insane, so I cry if you look at me cross eyed, and I freak out over the smallest things. Another problem is that my migraines are back. I feel like my head is gonna explode (the pain is right over my left eye), and bright light just about kills me. I'm nauseated and just plain stressed out. On top of everything, I just got into a brand new relationship, and I feel like I'm gonna ruin it if I don't get my emotions in check. cry

I have been on 100mg of Lyrica BID for about 6 weeks now (my doc wants me to go up to 150mg BID, but since I am getting the meds free through the company, I am waiting for them to arrive), and I cannot tell one difference. I am still in constant pain and I just feel like I'm at my wit's end. How can I convince my doctor that I'm NOT drug seeking? I have been eating ibuprofen like candy, and besides not wanting to blow out a kidney, I still hurt! sad

OK, I guess I just needed to vent and ask anyone for some advice (and some kind words would be nice, LOL). BTW-I have a doc appointment later this AM, so I'll keep y'all updated. Thanks for letting me whine. yeah

Let your Dr. know exactly what you just told us- your miserable! Maybe he can give you a few meds just to get you through till the other meds arrive? Also, I know when you first start taking the pill it takes awhile to get hormones leveled out. And I feel for you and the migraines! I have had only one migraine in my life when the fibro first hit and it was awful.

As far as the "new" relationship- if he really likes you he will understand that you are going through some issues right now and you are working on it but to bare with you until you can get this figured out.

Let us know what happens at the appt. today-

Kelly when I was your age the hormones were so bad I couldn't stand myself sometimes. There were days when my family would hide from me. devil Women peak in their 30s and then it is all down hill. Am I helping??? smilewinkgrin

 

Have you been checked for fibroid tumors, they can cause bleeding???

 

I don't think I get migraines but I can sure sympathize when it comes to headaches. The weather changes constantly here right now, we are in for several days of rain again. I was talking to a neighbor yesterday that doesn't have any medical problems but she was complaining about horrible headaches.

 

I hope you get your meds and start feeling better. Good luck with the new relationship.

Hi Kelly...Marlee is right about the hormones.  After my hysterectomy at 23 years old due to constant bleeding from Ovarian cysts (hope they have checked you for that) I was on estrogen and I had such bad migraines I thought my brains were going to explode out of my ears.  Birth Control pills can absolutely cause migraines and other mood changes.  I went off the estrogen because of it...couldn't sit in a dark room and cry from the pain all day with three kids!

Let us know what the doc says.  I hope he takes this seriously...maybe regulate the dosage or something.

Casey, I'm no help here because I get the silent migraines...no pain.  But I wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you.  My daughter gets migraines and I know how miserable she feels. 

I really hope you told your doctor just what you have told us.  Hopefully he'll have some answers for  you and can help with the migraines.

Good luck with the new acquaintance.  Boy!  You aren't wasting any time.  No moss grows on your north side!  devil

Thanks everyone for the advice and kind words. Sometimes all it really takes (for me, anyway) is for someone to just listen.

So, my doctor's appointment was basically a waste of time & money. Obviously, my doc (BTW-she is a woman. Funny how we usually assume that docs are men) has no clue about how to deal with a patient who is a recovering addict and on methadone. I find it really bizarre that some people can get pain meds with no problem, and then I am supposed to suffer because of my past. It's just really frustrating. Anyway, she ended up giving me Immitrex, and I would absolutely try it-if I could afford it! rolleyes I got a sample with 2 whole pills in it! I was like, Really?

The good news is that my period has finally stopped. I'm hoping that the BC pills are working. Oh, I have been checked for fibroids (I had a pelvic ultrasound). I think that life is just overwhelming me. I'm in this brand new relationship and it's long distance. Basically, I'm scared to death! But, my therapist gave me some really good advice today. She suggested just living in the moment and don't worry about what may or may not happen. I think that's some of the best advice I've gotten in a long time. yeah

Anyway, thanks again for everyone's advice. I love y'all! :-)

I think that is very gooood advice. None of us know what will happen from one day to the next. I hope the pill works for you. You know we are always here to listen to you.

Thanks Kelly!!! I have a son older than you but thanks for thinking of me as young. smilewinkgrin My sister had a complete hysterectomy at 39 because of bleeding problems. That's been 20 some years ago and there was no reason for them to take her ovaries out so stay away from the old fashion docs that think the answer is to rip it all out.
