Since my surgery Feb. 12th and 2 mos. recovery, I've been slowly trying to work more and more. (I was only able to work 50% last year, and that was a TOTAL STRETCH. ) So...today was a real test of how I've been feeling. I worked 8 hours, 9-5...which I've been able to do a few days a week. But also today I went to a meeting from 7-9:30. And I don't feel like I'm going to die! (I forgot to take my meds at 6 pm, so now i'll be up til midnight but that's ok. I'm just really glad.)

I'm going to be trying to work 75% this month and if that goes ok, I'll try to move up to full-time again soon.

Meanwhile, my LTD carrier is still denying me benefits. Ridiculous.

You amaze me. You had very major surgery and have come back so very well. What is your secret?

Way to go! I work full time too and I applaud you for making it through a whole day of work. It must be exceptionally tough after surgery/recovery.

That's great K-9!

How is your energy level holding up?  Did treating your pain (was it ext. release Tram.?) have an extra benefit of giving you more energy?

hehe .... guess you can tell, as I think about going back to work, the "energy crisis" is one of the big concerns.

Hey Rich,
It seems that everyone is different so all I can say is that for ME, getting the pain under control, and taking the amitriptylene for deep sleep made all the difference when it comes to energy. I think in particular, the pain management. It was stressful to go through every day thinking: "do I need to take a T3 yet/again? How many should I take? Can I get away with T1s? What if I take too much Tylenol? Hey the pain is better now...oh drat, now it's back...etc. etc. etc."
With the Tramadol, I take one pill in the morning and I don't need to think any of that stuff all day. So...the reduction of stress may be a factor in the return of my energy as well. But when I had none, MAN was it brutal.
