Headaches, Tramadol, Fog.. GRrrrrrrrrrr

Hey everyone.. new here.. I was diagnosed with Fibro about 8 years ago, finally have a new Rheumatologist (3 years after moving to Northern Ohio).. He ordered additional blood tests for Lupus, because he's not quite sure if I even have it. My sisters have Lupus, and so did my mother. I pray to God that's not the case with me..

Does anyone else here have Fibro on TOP of Lupus?

Anyway, my doctor put me on Tramadol, 4- 50 mgs per day.. I only take about 2 or 3, depending on how I'm feeling during the day/night. When I take it, I get soo sleepy and it feels like I could just pass out. As if I need anymore Fatigue! I was on it before for about 3 years and it kept me from having pain altogether.. I don't even know how I dealt with the extra fatigue. Anyone else taking Tramadol?

I take time-released Tramadol (150mg once/day). It's WONDERFUL - especially in that I only need to take 1 pill every morning and then forget about it. It doesn't give me any side effects except constipation but I take fiber for that and it's fine.

I did used to be super-fatigued, however and don't know if or how Tramadol affected that. But if it did, then it passed. I have a lot of energy now, and I just re-started to take it mid-April.

I'm currently taking flexeril and gabapentin but the gabapentin is starting to give me peripheral edema, which is very uncomfortable and makes me have to pee every two minutes. I'm considering Tramadol as my next treatment option, so that is great to hear abut the time-released capacity. I already take Benefiber every day, so maybe this is a good option. I already take supplements at every meal, so the less medication I have to take, the better!

Hi, Angel, and welcome! I took Tramadol once and it knocked me out. I won't take it because of that. I don't want to sleep through my life and I do want to be able to drive my car.

I'm glad that you found us. You will find a great bunch of people on this forum that love to help one another and really do care about each other, too.
