Hello. This is the first time I've posted. First I want to say, after reading many posts, I am so impressed how helpful and supportive you all are of each other. I have problems with brevity, but I will try my best to be concise. I had to go on SSDI in 2002 but my health has only worsened. I am barely able to function, live by myself, and have no support. My question at this time is: I see an endocrinologist due to Diabetes ( dx. 2003) and Hypothyroidism (dx-1967). When I used to do research on FMS/CFS, I noticed some doctors, mostly those leanly toward complimentary/alternative medicine, report that people with FMS that have thyroid issues, should not be treated soley based on TSH levels. I've tried to discuss this with 2 endocrin.'s, stating the I believe my H-P-A axis is out of balance. Basically, they dismiss the information. My dr. continues to lower my Synthroid based on my TSH levels. Half my thyroid was removed in 1970 due to Hashimoto's disease. Does anyone else have similar thyroid issues and FMS/CFS? Does anyone know if the traditional info./tx followed by endocrin. is accurate compared to the theory of complimentary/alternative med. doctors? My health is rapidly declining and I am losing functionality almost daily. I appreciate any advice or information you might have. Thank you so much!!! rubyslippers
