I also have HJS. One of my physical therapists said once that most people with FM have it. (Dont know where she got that info but that is what she said...) She did say that you will often find trigger points in the muscles that cross over the hypermobile joints.
My joints often hurt and I tell my doctors this and they say "FM doesnt cause joint pain". So If I know I dont have arthritis (tested once) is it HJS??
I am very curious about
this. I have never been told I have HJS (I am not exactly even sure what it is) but I do have a lot of joint pain, especially in my elbows and fingers.
Could someone explain to me what HJS is? And if I'm feeling joint pain regularly, is it something I should talk to my Dr. about
?
Oh, and I tried your link, Sherrine, and it didn't work for me..
Ok, I did some searching myself, and this sounds a lot like what we used to call being "double jointed". I definitely can not do the finger things, but my hands are terrible stiff and achy from having Carpal Tunnel for years and years. However, I've always been able to bend forward straight kneed and put my hands flat on the floor. (of course, I am only 5 ft tall, though, so maybe I can do that just because I don't have far to go. lol)
