I like your advice Akjak-even though repeatedly trying different doctors feels a little wierd to me (after all, they are "godlike" and usually not questioned AND I begin to feel like a hypochondriac searching for a doctor that will "give me the answer I am seeking") - your advice is very sound. I am finally starting to do that...trying different docs, and even a different Pain Management Center (mostly because the one I am going to is hospital based and very expensive even with my insurance.) A new arthritis doc finally gave me percoset but said only for the short term and "they" do not "do" pain managment with narcotics. I have felt so much better in the past 2 days (I have already been on Ultram 400mg/day) - and I understand the possible pitfalls but it is making a huge impact on my quality of life.
There are good docs out there who will help (really listen and beleive your pain), and you have to be relentless in your search. I am getting closer. Just found a local support group too and hoping that I may get some good LOCAL doc "referrals" through that!
Feeling guiltly for being tired in and pain...wow...that hit a nerve. Food for thought for me and I thank you.
