Hi, everyone,

I posted about "meds", but didn't get much response about Lyrica, so I will try this route.

I have had increasing difficulty with fibromyalgia since menopause -- I'm "post" menopause now, on premarin --- and I have had more and more pain and FATIGUE.  For the past four days my headache has not let up.

Anyone out there experienced with Lyrica???  My two grown daughters want me to try it, and my doctor has brought it up, but I don't know. If it will help with the FATIGUE, which is one of my main complaints, I would take it in a heartbeat. Can anyone tell me if it helps with any main symptoms?

I have reviewed the FDA information on Lyrica, and it sounds pretty good, but I don't want to start down a path similar to the vicodin misery. I had become addicted to that and it was hard to get off of it, but I did it. I guess I'm a bit afraid of the Lyrica for that reason. Any ideas if it is similar??

Any info you can give me would be very welcomed!

Lyrica helps me but it took a couple of weeks for the side effects to pass.

Been on Lyrica for a year now and I didn't realize it was working until I went off it. It does help with the burning pain..fatigue I'm not so sure about. But it DOES help you sleep. As Donnaeil said, it will take a while for the side effects to pass.

Lyrica helps my pain. It does not help the fatigue. The combination of meds that I take help me sleep, and that is the only thing that helps the fatigue. On those nights I don't sleep well, the next day I am very fatigued. Also, whenever I do anything out of the ordinary, I become fatigued.
Lyrica definitely has side effects. Dry mouth, muddled mind, swelling of my ankles, and sometimes my hands.
I take it because it really helps my pain. The good outweighs the bad for me. But if I was taking it for fatigue, I would quit it.

Lyrica helps me sleep, too. I don't think it has helped my fatigue which is terrible, worse than the pain. Diane

Is there ANYTHING that helps with the fatigue? as horrid as the pain is, i would take pain over fatigue any day... i can still get stuff done while in pain.
