arm pain so bad....

 Hi everyone,

 

I am going thru a lot lately.... looking for any help I can get.

I have Bronchitis and it's not really going away even w/ the medicine.

at any rate, my fibro pain has been quite intense. ESP MY ARMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone else have bad arm pain from Fibro?? if so, how do you deal with it? seems like not much works. Espom salt bath only works for so long and then it's back. mad

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you're going through this! Are you on any specific meds for fibro? Lyrica + Cymbalta seem to be helping my severe back pain. I haven't had arm pain lately, since being on Lyrica, although I have experienced it before.

no the lyrica caused severe weight gain and terrible dizziness. Cymbalta caused terrible mood swings and ANGER. YIKES! LOL.
So, only Darvocet for pain right now......

try wrapping a heating pad around your arm. also bodi heat wraps from drugstore or lidoderm rx patches.

i assume you are also taking some kind of pain med?

I am only on Darvocet for pain, but am out and don't see Dr til Oct 1st. Maybe I should see if he can see me sooner.
Also I have not heard of Lidoderm patches. .... I guess this is a prescription? thanks!!!

Sorry you are hurting. When I am flaring my arms really ache. Soaking in a hot bath helps.
I take Flexeril when I am flaring, it is a muscle relaxer that does help take the edge off the
pain. I take Savella 50mg 2x daily and has helped with the burning aching muscles. I have
been on it for about 10 weeks, it didn't kick in for me until week 7; but is now helping.

Hope you are able to fin pain relief soon!

THANKS! I will def. talk to my Dr about Flexeril. I have heard of that relieveing FM pain a lot.

I too am on flexoral for bad flares. I know how much more it hurts when sick also. Going through it all myself and wish I could offer you more help. Try gargling w/ salt water. I can not take any cold meds at all. I hope you feel better soon.

I switched from flexeril to baclofen, another muscle relaxer. I like it a lot. It seems stronger to me.

I shouldn't post when I'm "in the fog"... I totally forgot what I wanted to tell you about my arm pain...! I get really bad, intense pain in my arms, especially elbows and upper arms (biceps, triceps). I will use my bed buddy, the rice-filled tube sock heated in a microwave, that helps so many of us. I have two bed buddies, one for each arm, and will wrap up in a blanket for a little while holding the bed buddies to my upper arms using the blanket.

I am actually wondering if I should get an electric blanket to see if that would help to be able to wrap that all around me?? anyone ever tried that?
