Hi, imjb, and welcome! I'm so glad you found us and joined in. We do have wonderful members that love to help one another and we all care about each other, too. I do think that makes us special.
You seem to be doing things well for fibro but you will need to learn how to pace yourself. Your body will teach you as to how much you can do without causing a flare. But, sometimes we just can't help ourselves and overdo! But whenever I have done that, I've usually accomplished a lot and that makes me very happy. I do know the pain will lessen.
Bed Buddies are good for pain, too. You can get these at Walgreen's and other places or you can make one by taking a tube sock, filling if 2/3's full of long grained rice, and tying a knot at the end. Pop it in the microwave and it gives off moist heat due to the moisture in the rice. It does feel great on those achy muscles.
Most of us with fibro do have the pain in the shoulders, back, and neck. I will massage the back of my skull. I can feel knots there and that helps a little and it's something I can do for myself. I always have two knots on each side of my neck at the base of my skull (they feel bruised) so I will massage those.
Don't hesitate to ask questions. We are here to help you. I'm so glad you joined our fibro family and I hope to hear more from you soon!
