In horrible pain and angry! RANT!

Tammy, I am so sorry you are hurting. The combination of Fibro pain and a Migraine is
always bad. If you are still miserable by the time hubby gets home from work, I would
go to the ER even if it meant taking your little one. You need some relief.

In the meantime try to relax, do some deep breathing exercises and gentle stretching.
Your neck and shoulder muscles are probably wound tight. I know migraines are horrible.

I used to suffer from terrible migraines and had to make trips to the ER for relief. It has
been awhile since I have had one. I do relaxation therapy daily and it has helped greatly.
I have a massage chair pad, do deep breathing exercises, and get a daily walk in.

Hope you are feeling better soon and that you are able find a doctor who is able to meet
your needs.

(((Tammy)))) I am so sorry you are hurting this badly. I am in a flare now too, but thankfully no migraine. I do get horrible migraines and have found a few things that help. Try putting ice on the base of your skull. Ice constricts and migraines are related to expanded blood vessels, somehow. Caffeine will also help constrict the blood vessels.

Very very gentle stretches help alleviate some of the pain from fibro. But you have to do it slowly and gently. And if at all possible, try to reduce your stress reaction. I know it sounds insensitive, but I don't mean to. Sometimes we all get in so much pain that we cannot help but cry. If you can try some deep breathing and stress reducing activities, that will help slow the cycle of stress=pain=stress, etc. Deep breathing is a proven destresser and will help those tensing aching muscles relax some. One that works nicely for me is to breathe in count 1, breath out, count 2 and do that until you get to 10 and start over. If you lose your place, start over. Let the thoughts come and go and do not judge them. concentrate on breathing. Take long slow breaths.

It's now morning and I haven't slept a wink all night. Still in horrible pain. I called my PCPs office this morning and the nurse said she couldn't give me anything stronger than Vicodin 5/500 1 every 4 hours. That's a joke on this pain. And also, she wouldn't give me anymore of them! What's the use? I've been waiting a month to get into the PM doctor, they haven't even called me. I've called them and got nowhere. I've called my PCP office back and told them I needed someone to get on the ball and get me in SOMEWHERE. I've been very adamant about someone doing something for me. I am suffering. I can't seem to get anywhere. On top of that, the hospital ER doctors are very hateful and don't help a bit. They actually told me that unless I had a broken bone, they wouldn't give any pain meds at all. Just go home and deal with it.

At the end of my rope here.

At this point, my PCP is only referring me to the PM doctor. We talked about a Rheumy the day I was Dx, but she didn't want to do the referral there. She said the PM doc would be better for me. Now it's just a waiting game and I am not the most patient person in the world to say the least. I've waited a month already, it's getting ridiculus.

I do take my Neurontin 3x/day right now. I'm not noticing any relief with it either. From what I've gathered, Neurontin is a nerve pain med, and I don't have nerve pain!I've been on it for a month now so I think it's been long enough to tell. I had a bad reaction to Ultram/Tramadol last time I took it so that's not an option for me. I'm also allergic to Ibuprofen products. There has to be something that will help me. There just has to be. My body can't take much more of this horrid pain before I'll just go crazy!

Marlee is right.  They can't turn you away, I believe.  You need some help and you need it now...not when they can get around to it.  I know I would be camping on my doctor's doorstep.  If I'm having problems, I call the doctor's nurse and she usually can get me right in.

Tammy, if you do get accepted to he PM program, it may be a good thing. Myt pain management doctor helped me a lot. I hope it is the same for you when they finally see you.

Thank you for all your replies! I ended up at the ER last night which I didn't want to do, but I just couldn't handle it anymore. They gave me injections of Morphine until my pain was at a manageable level, and once I told the ER doc what I was going through with my doctor, and still waiting to get into the PM doc, he wrote me a script for the Lortab that I was out of. I was so appreciative, I actually hugged him. I have felt alot better today, and have actually gotten some things done around the house. My husband was surprised when he came home to find the dishes done and the house alot cleaner than when he went to work this morning! LOL It's surprising how functional I can be with just a little help over that hump.

So to hear you pain, been there myself up over 48 hours once becasue I was scared to fall asleep thinking I was having a heart attack. that was the beginning of my fibro. I do have terrible pain sometimes but not as bad as it was in the beginning. when I have a flare up like that I have to talk myself down tell myself you fine over and over agian. It does help alot.

I agree with the rheumatologist mine is wonderful he even called me back at 9 at night.
Hope you days get better and alse when you do finally go to the doctor ask him to take your vitamin D level. Mine was gone and once he got it back up the pain got much better do a little reaidng on the level D difficiency and you would be amazed at the outcome of how that can cause a lot of pain.

I hope you do get better so that you can enjoy the holidays and keep in mind your not alone we all are on this website for a reason. Keep your chin up and demand to be seen.
