i have been using it nonstop! i absolutely love it. esp since last night consisted of standing for a few hrs. needless to say i would be a lot worse! yay bed buddys lol

It's wonderful when you get useful things for Christmas!  I usually get weird things and this year is no exception!  LOL  But, enjoy your bed buddy.  It will really help with the muscle pain.

lol. Mine is filled with scented herbs (smells like tea) and you can either use it hot or cold. Its shaped so you can put it around your neck/shoulders but the herbs move so you can pretty much use it everywhere. And lemme tell ya i HIGHLY reccomend it!!! and im super psyched my bf listened to me when i mentioned it when i first heard of them on here. Lol

Bed Buddies can be found at Walgreen's and other places.  You can microwave them and they give off moist heat. 

 

You can make one, too, by taking a tube sock, filling it 2/3's full of long grain raw rice and tying a knot at the end.  Pop it in the microwave and enjoy!  It gives off moist heat due to the moisture in the rice.

I have three of them.  What is really nice is on a really cold night, you can heat them up and put them in your bed.  I put one between our pillows, one by my back and one by my feet.  So the whole bed stays warm for a long time.  I have also put them under my neck.

I hope that you get a lot of good use out of your bed buddy.

I hear you Sherrine, one of my DILs got me a worry bracelet, it has a little box on it to put all your worries in I guess, the clasp broke on the box five minutes after I put it on and she didn't offer to take it back so..................kinda useless now.

 

We should do a thread on the strangest gifts we got for Christmas.

 

I bought a coat awhile back and had not worn it til yesterday, I do not know what it is made from but it smells really bad, like a petroleum product. I'm not going to fight the crowds this weekend but it is going back Mon.

 

I am all about the comfort things these days too. If it will ease the pain of fibro I want it. I'm glad someone's family listens to them FtL.

 

The money tree sounds great too, I would head straight for BB&B.

I bet none of you got color coordinated toilet brushes for Christmas!  I did!  tongue   They came in their own brush holders.  The holders and handles were the same color.  I got a forest green, light blue, and lavendar to match my three bathrooms.  I won't go into detail about the two rolls of heavy duty foil I received.  turn

ok .. so i couldn't imagine a sock filled with rice doing much for me while i sleep ... so i looked up a bed buddy on the net. (oh, some of those hits were interesting!) but I finally found this great big pillow! Looks fantastic! however, I have NO money ... so I kind of made one myself ...

I took an old, soft quilt and rolled it up, then put it into a king sized pillow case. It worked great!

(I'm 6 feet tall .. love the sock idea for neck/back discomfort and have used that idea for years .. but in bed ... not so much.) ;)

I make my own bed buddies as you guys call them. I call them my corn bags. I have Crohns also, and my tummy is got the pattern on the corn on it all the time. You should see the docs face whenever they see my stomach. LOL

My BF got me a beautiful magnifying glass that is made from blown glass, that I can wear on a chain around my neck or keep in my desk drawer. I was really touched because I am forever holding things up to the light and then asking him to read it for me! My family got me new silk thermals and a new heating pad. I was equally touched that they are starting to understand a little.

One of my friends got me the most awesome gift though. She knows that I have been having a lot of trouble with my elbow points and my arms, everything hurting so they can't move, and raging pain if my elbows touch anything. So she got me a set of basketball player's neoprene throwing-arm sleeves! Isn't that smart?? They are basically like compression stockings for your arms, that keep the area warm and stimulated. You can buy them thinner, with little to no compression, all the way up to heavy-duty compression thickness. I know they might not benefit everyone (esp. if anyone has circulation problems) but my elbows feel so protected and supported, I could almost cry in relief.
