the laziest day ever! (nice!!!!)

hubby is working, boys are with their dad, so it's just my little girl and me here today.  so far we have taken a 1.5 hour bubble bath, we ate ice cream for breakfast, we read 10 books together (she read TWO ... and she's only 5 years old!), we watched a movie, and are getting ready to take a nap.  I DID put ONE load of laundry from the washer into the dryer ... but that wasn't too challenging.  (wink!)  right now, we're laying on the couch with our pet bunny ... listening to rain on the tin roof and deciding what colors to paint our nails tonight. 

there are MOUNTAINS of laundry, PILES of dishes, FLOCKS of dust bunnies, and TONS of things to do for work tomorrow ... but guess what?  I DON'T CARE!!!!  Not today.  It will all be here tomorrow (and the next day, and probably the day after that ... lol)   ... and I haven't had a 'girls only jammie day' with my sweet little girl for a LONG time.  \

what a GREAT lazy day.

You should enjoy every single minute with your little girl, and not waste any of it thinking about the laundry, dishes, dust bunnies, etc. Read more books, draw pictures, write a story together, take another bubble bath, ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, where she would want to live, what kind of grandmother she wants you to be, what she wants to learn in school, what her favorite color is, what her favorite subject is. There are so many ways to enjoy girls pj day. Get a notebook, record the answers to any questions you ask her, or she ask you. My girls are 14 and 18 and I would give anything to return to 5. I don't know where the years in between went. I still can have pj day with the 14 year old, the 18 year old has moved out. Long story.

Don't feel guilty for today, enjoy it, all of it. We are all so busy we don't get enough.

thanks! i think so too! my sons are 14 and 12 ... and it breaks my heart sometimes that they are ALL growing so FAST!!!!!! we have added fingerpainting and browning baking to the list of things we accomplished today. oh .. and my family is so aware of how sore I have been lately, she asked if she could rub some lotion on my feet and my back and hands ... so we played a little 'beauty parlor' too. so much fun.

when everyone gets home in a couple of hours i'm sure they will wonder what in the world i did all day. but hopefully, when they see that i don't look all pinched and tense, they will realize how much i needed a day OFF!!!!!
