Yup, and it didn't make much of a difference. I did find that my pain is slightly less when I don't eat wheat but it doesn't make a big enough difference for me to stick with it constantly.
I've done various detox protocols due to my Lyme Disease history but it didn't change anything.
I try to eat a healthy diet, organic when possible. I occasionally binge on junk but don't see a difference later.
If you feel it's worth it, give it a try. If it helps, great but don't expect miracles.

My doctor of years ago wanted me on strictly protien diet, could have some vegies and fruit, but mostly protien. It didn't seem to matter much either.

I lost over 50 pounds on a protein/veggies diet and have kept most of it off for over 10 years. Losing all that weight did NOT make me feel any better.

I have diabetes and found that when I eat less starchy carbs and eat more fruits and veggies my inflammation levels go down. This in turn lessens my arthritis pain. Without the constant nagging arthritis pain my fibro doesn't kick up so much... So I guess in a way the lower carb food plan does help my fibro. I also found that when I stay low carb for a very long time I sometimes go nuts and want to eat flour tortillas stuffed with beans and rice!!! LOL...

I agree with Jeannie. I watch my carbs and do feel better when I do. She is better behaved about
it though! I do find if I eat too many carbs I ache and am very tired.

I eliminated gluten and had an immediate improvement... so much so that I hoped it had been the source of much of my pain and that they had been wrong about
the fibro diagnosis. But I was also having a lot of digestive symptoms which was the reason I tried the elimination diet. I had felt constantly nauseated for over 6 months, and when I eliminated gluten it was gone within 48 hours, and much of my pain gradually retreated over a month or so. I go through pain cycles now, but when the added physical symptoms of gluten intolerance were removed, it made my fibro symptoms much more bearable. And I think that they symptoms of gluten intolerance and fibro overlapped for me as well...fatigue, joint aches and pains, etc. At least now I am only dealing with pain from one source. So for me, the pain relief is worth the hassle of following a gluten free diet (which is naturally carb restrictive if you don't add lots of processed foods back in). And I dropped 20 lbs too, which was an added benefit.
But unless you have reactions that you can directly tie to certain foods by, say, keeping a food diary, it is not likely to be something you will be able to stick with. But then again, there is no harm to your health to try. I have been gluten free for 15 months now, and won't go back for anything. But that is just my experience. I certainly would not come here and claim gluten free to be some kind of miracle just because of my experience, but I felt so awful at the time that I was willing to do almost anything to relieve the misery.

I do have one piece of advice that I would like to share (if you don't mind). I tried eliminating processed food from my diet and eating organic. I was so confused on what bread to eat and if I could eat this or that. I actually lost 18 pounds (because I was basically not getting enough calorie intake). I am sure you won't be as silly as I was.
I really still want to try to stay away from flour, but when you do an elimination diet, you need to do it correctly to see if you really are intolerant to that. I did it completely WRONG. I was worse off then I had ever been.
Just a word of advice from someone who did it ALL wrong. LOL
I do hope you find some relief from an elimination diet. I also want to try to do it the correct way this time.
Hugs,
Susan
