Koffee Klatch...it's Thursday!

What's your favorite perfume or cologne scent? This is a question for both men and women, of course. Is there one you've worn for years? Maybe it's an annual gift from your loved one? Or do you wear a fragrance that your loved one especially likes? Maybe you prefer not to wear them at all. What's your take?

I do wear perfume when going out or some days when hubby is coming home and I feel like adding something a bit special. There aren't many fragrances I like nor that do any justice to me or themselves when I wear them. I can like them when someone else wears them but once on me...peeee...uuuuu... <shudder> The only one I enjoy is a light musk. I have no idea why but the brand I use seems to set well with others because when I wore it to work I'd get lots of comments on how great it smelled. I always go very light on any fragrance!!! I hate going through the grocery store and even before some over done lady arrives her perfume hits your nose. Then by the time she goes past you, you are on the verge of tossing up your breakfast! Any more I am just rude and use my sleeve or collar and cover my face and nose area as they go by in hopes of them getting a 'hint'!...lol

Oh, and a favorite doesn't have to be one YOU wear but one your sweetie wears. I'm an old fashion girl and I love the smell of Old Spice on a man who is freshly shaved. mmm-mmmm

I have become so sensitive to odors in the past few years I only wear perfume on special occasions now but use to wear it everyday. Hubby's sense of smell is very bad so it's all wasted on him. I have a few favorites White Diamonds, Channel #5, Beautiful and one Gucci.

 

I know some of these older women must not have a sense of smell either cause they smell like they have taken a bath in perfume and it does gag me to be close to them. I want to say, "Honey, one spritz will do you".

 

As far as DH, I love it when he comes to bed right after a shower and smells so clean and fresh, makes me want to snuggle and that is all I will say about it.

I always use to wear patchouli oil. I love it. But you can't put much on, it is overbearing. My second favorite is white shoulders. And then I like youth dew by Este' Lauder.

I know what you mean about people bathing in it. Where I live, at the post office there is two doors and the scents get stuck in between them. I was once tempted to take my first husband's fart spray and spray in between the doors to get these women back. I know naughty me, but I never did do it. It was a nice thought though. But smelly. lol...

I also don't wear perfume everyday and am also in agreement on someone smelling you from a mile away- that's just awful.  My fragrance is Beautiful by Estee Lauder.  I have worn this for years.  It's one of the few that I can wear and it actually smells good on me and doesn't smother me.  I'm very sensitive to scents nowadays. 

Currently I am wearing Amazing Grace...I just found it.  Its a very clean smell.  Got it for Christmas with shower gel and lotion.  Besides that I love Poison. 

 

Years ago I alway wore patchouli oil. Now I use scented lotions, I like a lime and

coconut blend.

I don't like perfume and never have. There is something in the most of the scents that turns me off. Even when I was young and healthy, I didn't like it.

I have become more sensitive since I got sick and can't even shop in stores that have large perfume departments; otherwise I get a headache and my sinuses instantly turn into faucets. I can tell which employee has recently walked by based on the perfume scent still lingering. I frequently leave places because someone has overindulged. I dropped a class in college because the instructor wore too much (for me) perfume and I couldn't concentrate.

I like scented lotions and they don't give me headaches or sinus problems. My favorite is Black Chamomile body lotion by Bath & Body Works. My husband showers with the green Irish Spring soap and then uses the Irish Spring deodorant, yum.

Fortunately for me, my husband's favorite scent is the menthol scent in Salon Pas pain patches and Tiger Balm. He gets to smell that a lot, LOL.

I layer my scents, begining with soap I only had the cheapy dollar general stuff until christmas when my MIL got me Heavenly by Dream Angels and Romantic Wish by VS Garden. I smell good, but not over powering as I don't need alot of perfume because of the soaps and lotions and deodorants LOL I have found some nice smelling deodorants that work well in place of perfume for 'sinus' days Secret Satiny Tropical, Jasmine Orient, and Fresh Oxygen.
