I got my insurance to approve a Tens Unit (electrical stimulation).  It was delivered today.  The blasted thing is defective, I tried everything..........there is power as the lights come on but no stimulation mad  I was so looking forward to using it and now they have to deliver another one.

Any on here use one and did it provide any relief?

Several people on this forum use a Tens Unit.  Our mod, Marlee, does and it has helped her.  I'm sure these people will pop on soon and tell you all about them.  I don't have one.

I use a TENS unit. My husband bought it online. I use it mostly for my shoulders. It does help. I try to use it before my shoulders are really bad. It does seem to relax the tight muscles. Hope you get the new one soon.

I am sorry that your tens unit did not work for you. I know it is hard to wait for another one, hopefully this will be a good one.

I have never used one, I didn't realize that they relax the muscles. My husband has one, maybe I should try it.

When you get your new tens unit, let us know and let us know how it works. I hope that it helps you.

I have an imitation one that I bought from the State Fair a few years ago that seems to help a lot (unfortunately I don't remember
where I put it). It works the same way but costs about 1/4 of the TENS unit.

They brought a new unit this afternoon, can I say that I was shocked??? This one works but haven't had time to use it yet. Will let ya'll know

I have a unit I also bought from the state fair, it is great and it helps when my legs are cramping or hurting really bad. You said the light comes on but doesnt work, one thing you have to remember is that every time you turn it on, or change the settings the volume goes to 0 and you have to raise it each time. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

I used my unit on my shoulder blade area and it feels wonderful still and that was an hour ago. Time to feed puppies and get my last "fix" of puppy breath

Please be careful with your TENS units. There are some things you must NEVER do such as put one pad on either side of the spinal cord. Be sure you know how to use it correctly before you start. Dear daughter is a PTA and is fanatical about how I use mine. Some peeps have injured themselves by using them incorrectly.

Thank You Jeannie!  Do you mean............there is 2 on a wire......never put one of each on either side of the spinal cord?.  I used to get stim at the chiro and am mainly using it on my shoulder blades.  I did read the book but will have to read it again

I'm not sure what Jeannie meant either Denise. I got mine online without a rx from doc. It interrupts the pain signals to the brain is how it works but I guess I better do some research on how to use it. Mine has 4 electrodes on it. The pads will last quite awhile they are so sticky and you don't have to change them every time you use the unit.
