Hi, Many of you may remember when I was trying to figure out how to add a new kitten to our one-cat household. My kitten, Jamaica, was hit by a car in front of our house about an hour ago and killed. Many neighbors saw her laying on the street, but no one saw the driver. She would have been 3 on Tuesday. I am just so heart-broken. Diane

I'm so sorry.  It's hard losing a pet.  They are part of the family.

I am so sorry about your kitty. They are like family, as Donna posted above, and it is such a shock when it is so sudden. Know that we are all here for you as you are going through this difficult time. Take care my friend.

I just want to add that I am sorry for the loss of you pet. They are members of our family and it is so painful to lose them. It is sad that the person who ran over Jamaica couldnt even have stopped to apologize. Not that it would lesson the pain but it would be nice to know that he felt remorse. So sorry

Diane I am so sorry for the loss of your kitten. Pets become a part of our family, a part of us so when one passes on it is just so horrible, painful and sad. Wish I could give you a hug to help ease your pain.

Diane, I am so sorry about the loss of your loving little kitten. I think just about all of us are pet lovers and we know the heartache you're going thru. My thoughts and prayers are w/ you and your family.

I don't understand why the driver didn't stop, it would have been the right thing to do.

I just feel so bad for all of you.

Reminds me of when I lost my dog, Max, the same way. It broke my heart. Go easy on yourself for the next couple of days.

I m so sorry for the loss of your pet.

I love my dogs so much (and my horses and barn cat) I would be devastited if one passed that way.  My condolences!!!!

I'm so sorry this has happened. I understand how much losing a pet hurts. I went through this the year before last when our beloved Bulldog Hyde.

Please accept my prayers that your heartbreak heals. I actually have tears just typing this as I know what you are going through. My pets are my kids and companions. Most days it's just me and them when hubby is a work. They become my life.

Diane, the pain will lessen each day but right now don't worry about how long it will take. Just get though today and if you need someone to hold you up, just look at the people in this thread and you'll see how much support you have waiting here for you.

Awww Diane, I am so sorry for your loss. I am so angered by people that can just hit someone's pet or even a stray for that matter and just drive off! How cold and insensitive can people be? I have no understanding of this. Again, I am sorry you lost your precious kitty, you are in my thoughts. Take care.

This is a tear jerker but I love it and have it framed.  I absolutely believe this is a reality, I send any of my pets to my baby sister to wait for me.  She was 21 and I was 22, we were very close.

Diane, I'm so sad to hear about your kitty.  Pets are so wonderful to have around but such a loss is hard to get over.

I'm so sorry to hear that! I lost my baby boy back in December, and it was one of the hardest things ever. A pet truly is a member of the family, and losing them is so devastating. Sending you hugs and comfort!

So sorry to hear about your kitty. It is the lose of a loved one. I know as I just sent my 19 year old furry baby to kitty heaven. My heart is still breaking and it was 2 weeks ago. All I can offer is to cry when you need to and do not feel silly about it.
