Just can't get through the night anymore. Had pain when I went to bed but dose off after awhile. Woke up at 12:45 thinking surely it was time to get up....nope. Well, I got up anyway. Legs were hurting and I think the predsione is giving me heartburn. I am gonna try and stay awake today so that I can sleep tonight. Anyone else awake?

I'm awake too...since 4:30 :( I can fall asleep most days no problem I just wish I could sleep for 7 or 8 hours at one time. It's not even pain waking me up it's like my body decides Ok you've had enough sleep time to get up then half way through the day it says OMG I was wrong you need to go lay down...stupid fibro!

Prednisone can make you not sleep, especially if you take it late. I take it early (with food) and have to take something to help sleep. I sure wish I had a Medrol pack right now, uuugggghhhhh........

I always wake up in the middle night to use the bathroom, after that I'm wide awake, ugh. Let me tell you there is nothing on TV...

Today I'm dragging and stiff in the legs, tired which isn't good because my mother-in-law is having issues and may have to take her in.

Make you a deal I will pray for you all and you pray for me....((hugs))

You got it Kelly. I called my dr. to get pain and sleep medicine.I bet I won't get pain medicine, dr. wouldn't give me any yesterday. Maybe if I sleep the pain will get better.

I understand. I have a terrible time falling asleep and staying asleep. It's like I sleep for 15 minutes and wake up with a start for the first two hours or so of the night. Last night I must have done something because I woke up at 3:30 in blinding pain. That has NEVER happened before. about a half hour later I finally was able to go back to bed. I think I got about 4 hours straight sleep. Maybe. No wonder I'm cranky today. lol!

Prednisone can definitely interrupt with sleep. I become a crazy person when I'm on that. Don't sleep for days until the dose lowers, but if I do doze off I have instantaneous horrific dreams... Hate it hate it hate it!!

Since I had to get off gabapentin I get only a couple of hours sleep at a time, then I'm up waiting for a pain medicine to kick in. I can't take more than 2 tramadol a day or risk serotonin symptoms. It's the only pain med that seems to work, although I keep trying OTCs. Spine injections worked for a couple of years, but not anymore. The pain docs don't understand fibro and I don't get to see the rheumy until late August.

I hope that everybody's pain subsides and that you all get some sleep. Fibro sucks, doesn't it? I was up early this morning too. Couldn't go back to sleep either. Now I am dead tired, but am staying up until at least 10:00.

Sleep what is it naturally I can stay awake for up to three days by that time my painis though the roof.Why don't I sleep no one can tell me. I hsave to take a series of meds to get to sleep. After a short time they don't work so then it is try a new lot. I hate not sleeping it gets to me. Then I get depressed a never ending circle. Have you tried all the helps. ie going to bed at the sme time every night, lying in a dark room. Not reading or watching tv. Reading a boring book. [A great doc told me that one, she has FMS and used that one to help her sleep]
I get to a stage where I just pass out with exhaustion ans sleep for 14 to 16 hours straight.

I learned the hard way, no napping in the day, I don't care how bad it gets. Every once in awhile I do and I pay for it.

I would much rather wake up in the middle of the night than fall asleep later because I took a nap and waking up at the same time....ugh.

I haven't exactly figured out this sleep thing. If anyone knows how it works I'd love to know.
Seriously though, I think I sleep about 2-4 hours a night, usually broken up some. Maybe an hour during the day if I am lucky.
I wish there was something better for sleep! I've tried ambien (Which makes me hyper go figure). Any Suggestions?

I took 2 ambien last night ( first time trying it) and all it did was make me a little loopy. It still took an hour for me to go to sleep...I woke up at 3:45, so that is about 4 1/2 hours of sleep. I am not gonna take a nap today no matter what. Pain doesn't help the whole situation. Also I have heartburn from the predisone and I can't tell where that is helping with the costo. Geez! This is very frustrating.

I usually sleep like a rock but last night I was up till 4 am. Laid in bed and thoughts running around in my head... Have three more wedding cakes to do and then off to the lake again. There I will sleep like a rock! Don't know what I will do for the rest of the summer when I have to stay home.

Found out I talked in my sleep, a lot. No more ambien.
