There's no question that I'm addicted to junk food; I assume it's the salt, fat, sugar, and the feel good "high" I get from eating the carbs.
I once read a study (I don't know about
the reliability of it) that compared junk food addiction to a heroin addiction. Something about
the fact that the same area of the brain is triggered in the consumption of both.
It's a real struggle for me. I'm trying to both eat smaller portions and make better choices: baked chips instead of fried, a small piece of healthy dark chocolate instead of a milk chocolate candy bar, etc.
This is one of my biggest challenges.
