Hi Mama and welcome to our Fibro Family!
Like others have said, this IS a wonderful place for support! We're obviously not medical professionals but we all have tons of experience we'll be happy to share.
I have no doubt that fibro is causing your pain, but like Jeannie and others have said...you best get back to a good doctor. Sure sounds like something more is going on. It may not be but it would pay to have someone check. Try getting a referral to a rheumatologist who
treats fibro...that last part is very important.
If it is fibro and nothing else there are things that can explain your increased pain. Stress will wipe us out in a heartbeat! Also, changes in weather/barometric pressure, change in your schedule, any other illness, doing more than you normally do or not doing enough. OK, that almost doesn't make sense but I think if you reflect on it a bit you'll totally understand what I'm referring to.
So many things and changes in our life can make the fibro go wild. Then we worry and it gets worse. Get an appointment with a rheumatologist and/or your regular doc to not only see what else might be going on but to see if one of them will get your something more serious for pain relief. You do NOT have to live with that much pain. A good doctor will address pain control right away!
One thing that would really help you now and over time is to keep a pain journal. Below is a link to a journal page that you can copy for free. Print off one page for each day and keep it filled in the best you can. Put them in a notebook, binder, folder or whatever but keep them all. Then every trip to any doctor you take that journal with you and ask them to review it while you wait. It will show them the intensity of your pain, when and what affects it, etc. You may begin to see patterns and what is making your pain worse, but more important the doctors will get a clear picture of your pain and will better be able to treat it.
I do hope things get better and keep in touch.
